The sun peaked underneath the curtain that was a bit too short from the window of their new apartment together.

I woke up to the morning light rising into my eyes but instead saw something brighter, my lover sleeping peacefully in front of me their hair disheveled and drool going down their cheek.
I stare feeling content with my morning view I brush the hair from their face and use the corner of the blanket to wipe away the drool before softly kissing their nose.

Slipping out of our bed, that has yet to develop dents from our bodies, I go to the kitchen where a few boxes are out miscellaneously from the day before I get start brewing coffee we knew it would be the most important item to have out.

Two teaspoons of sugar, three teaspoons of espresso and a splash of oat milk before I pour the fresh coffee into the mug I gave them for our 7th anniversary.

As I'm stirring I sense a gentle presence behind me before the feeling of their tired weight leans onto my back and I'm squeezed into a warm embrace.

We soak in the moment as the sun further ascends on us from the kitchen window, they twirl me around lifting up slightly to bring our lips together i pull them closer to me as if we could absorb each other.

I wish.

I give them their coffee as we break away from each other and watch them further brighten up after the first few sips. I pour myself coffee after and we sit in comfortable silence standing close before the sun is fully up and we have to get ready for the day.

Prompt: write a scene between two of your characters with no dialogue. Make it a quiet private moment where we see what they're like together when no one else is around.
