Author's Note: Yes, I know it took the first few chapters to get through the first day. I assure you that it won't be like this the whole story, I just wanted to give you an idea of how the day goes. Does that make sense? So yeah, the pacing should get much better starting next chapter. Anyways, yeah have fun.

Eren's POV

As Mike lectured the class about graphs as they took notes, Eren couldn't help but stop thinking about the girl next to him. He hasn't tried glancing at her, not since the awkward exchange they had when he sat down. Boy, I wish Armin were here.. He thought to himself, ignoring Mike. Why does she look so familiar? While he was contemplating, a paper was laid on his desk, right in front of his eyes. Wait, what? He said in his mind, confused.

"The packet I gave to you is due next Monday," Mike announced to the class. "Now, that's not for a whole week, but don't be an idiot and lollygag. Trust me, nothing feels worse than staying up the night before, rushing the paper. Just do it soon, and get it out of the way." As he finished talking, the bell rang. Class is really over? He thought. I was really just in my head the whole time...He swung his backpack around him. He made sure only one strap was actually hanging on his shoulder. Sure, it stresses his back more. Sure, it's kind of painful. But it does make me look cooler, he thought. Exiting the class, he saw Armin waiting for him while holding a hefty green biology textbook.

"Did you-" Eren started.

"Yeah, got out early," Armin responded while unintentionally cutting him off. "What's with your lack of load?"

"What?" Eren tilted his head slightly, dumbfounded.

"You don't have homework or anything?"

"Well duh, I do, I put it in my backpack like a normal person. But you, your class is already starting off with textbooks?"

"Yeah. Honestly, I'm glad we got straight to this and skipped introductions."

"Why's that?"

"I hate introducing myself," he said, in a suddenly cold and dead sounding tone.

"I get that," he responded. "Let's go." As he turned around, he saw the girl there, still sitting by herself, all mopey. They left, and walked around to find the next class.

Minutes later, after searching through the whole second floor, and almost all of the first floor, they found the class. It was on the way upstairs, why didn't I see it earlier? He thought to himself, feeling like a fool. They opened the door and walked in, meeting almost everyone's eyes pointed right at them. God, that doesn't make either of them feel good. "Uh, hey-" Eren started to talk, when their teacher cut them off.

"What the hell are you doing, coming in 5 minutes after class started?!" she said.

"Uh, how did you get down here so fast, Dr. Zo-" Armin started, of course getting cut off by her.

"Whatever, just sit down," she said, more calm, as she looked down. The two boys did as told, sitting down together at the back of the class.

"What were you saying, Armin?" Eren asked.

"You see that crazy woman up there? That's Dr. Zoё." Armin responded, partially scared of her.

"Yeah."

"She was my Bio teacher.... How did she get down here..? We didn't even see her.."

"Wow Armin, good eye. Maybe she's some demon doctor from hell.... Or maybe your class ended early."

"Oh." Armin looked down at the floor, rubbing his head. Silent, speechless even. "Sorry, my head's fuzzy."

"It's fine dude, just pay attention." Eren said, trying to comfort him. Dr. Zoё continued the class section, talking about the basics of chemistry, toying with the goggles at the top of her head. While Armin was taking notes, looking dead inside, Eren started getting in his head. No, he thought, I won't let this possess me again. I need to focus on class. Maybe that'll distract me. Did I put on deodorant this morning? He started sweating again, lightly this time. The A/C sure worked, but he wasn't overheating. He's nervous. Without him knowing, his leg started shaking. He started taking notes as well. He'll ask Armin what he missed later. Armin might act stupid and clueless, but he's the smartest guy he knows. Of course, Eren isn't stupid, he's just not a genius. He likes to think of himself as above average, while Armin is on another level entirely. He was so indulged with the class and his notes, the girl with the scarf wasn't on his mind at all. He was finally calm, his legs stopped shaking.

Soon enough, the teacher stopped lecturing the class.

"Today, I have an assignment for you.." she said, while grabbing a handful of papers from a drawer in her desk, and setting them on the top. "This'll count as homework, but luckily for you, I'm giving you all the rest of the class to do it. There are chemistry textbooks to your right, on that shelf there. Grab one, read Unit One, answer the questions. There's a selection of words across the unit in bold. Define the words in your notebooks, yada yada, due next monday."

"Did she really just say yada yada?" Eren whispered to Armin.

"Talking to your friends isn't part of the work, Eren." Zoё loudly announced to the class. "Get to work, all'a you meatbags." she said, sitting down. Everyone started doing as told, like a hive; This weird hyper doctor being the queen bee. Over the remainder of class, Eren did as told. It was easy since he paid attention instead of thinking about her. Then, he realized how difficult his Algebra 2 homework was gonna be. He could definitely wait for the end of the school day, and getting to work. What he couldn't wait for was nighttime.

Soon after this thought process, the bell rang. The duo got up from their seats and walked out, followed by a crowd of students behind them.

"Can I talk to you about something during lunch?" Eren asked his friend. He nodded in response as they headed towards the stairs to the cafeteria. Then, he spotted the two older kids with the jerseys. They were talking about something, but he was too far away to eavesdrop. He decided to not worry about it anyways. He knows he always gets in his head about it. As they walk by the boys and down the stairs, he glances back. He meets the sight of both of them, staring right at him, not talking at all. His walking speed slightly sped up, as he grabbed Armin's hand and sped down the stairs.

"Eren? What's wr-" Armin started.

"Come on. Let's get lunch." Eren cut off. He thought he'd just tell him about it as well as the girl at lunch.
