Let There Be Light

Most stories begin with "once upon a time" and have a "happily ever after."  My story is neither.  My story begins with tragedy and ends in Hell, literally.
The beginning of time was difficult.  Our all mighty 'God' began creating life and wasn't very creative at first.  The entity created my soul by accident through breath she never used, a mere accidental exhale that was held for eons.
For eons more, there was nothing but darkness surrounding me and the creator.  My existence consisted of drifting inside Gods immense and endless abyss.  I preferred to stay near the brighter colors that sometimes popped up and swirled around once I found that I was capable of moving about.
God must have realized my liking to the colors because she started creating swirls of light and tossing them into the vast darkness.  We stayed this way for eon after eon until the darkness was filled with sparkling spheres that glittered about.
As the spheres were created, tiny lights would fall around them and bedazzle the darkness in between each sphere. I lazily existed in the dazzling abysmal space now that 'God' created for me to enjoy.
Again, we floated about and enjoyed the new creations until boredom started to fill me.  Again, 'God' felt my plight and she began creating again.
There was a specific sparkling sphere that I came to adore.  It was blue and green with swirls of white that glistened from a bright yellow sphere not too far from it.
God drifted slowly towards this specific sphere, bringing me to attention.  We have never really moved before, just drifted without aim.  The sensation was exciting and I found myself brightening up.
We entered the sphere and we were surrounded in light.  A feeling that I didn't know overwhelmed me.  I later discovered it to be called happiness and excitement.
We drifted all over the sphere taking in the wondrously beautiful scenes.  We watched it become dark for a few hours and then light again over and over.  I felt sad when the darkness took over.  When this feeling inched it's way into my soul, 'God' tightened around me as if to comfort me.  Once the light began to resurface, my heart felt lighter and that embrace was released for me to explore my new surroundings again.
Together, we scoured the sphere and explored high and low. Then, one day 'God' drifted low to the surface and took a physical form.  I watched in awe as  'God' began to form into a physical being with a long slender body of flesh and bone. Then, 'God' whispered the first word across my soul, "clay," and began molding the clay she dug from the ground into a small creature with four legs and a long tail.
Once molded, it was cupped in gods hands and a blinding light emitted poking between elegant fingers.
The creature was, then, laid on the ground and 'God' reached for my soul with those long slender fingers.  My excitement bubbled up as I was gently placed over the being she had just created. I took in the sight and was curious to see what this thing was going to do. But, to my surprise, I felt an abrupt pull towards the motionless creature. For the first time, I entered into complete nothingness.
Eventually, a bright light washed over me and I was back from the nothingness. I was terrified and confused.  God began whispering to me in my mind to calm me and gave me knowledge of what was happening.  She gave me life so I could experience more of the happiness that I felt when first entering this world, a planet.
I encountered a major download of information and could process thoughts more clearly.  The entity that I called 'God', explained that she wanted to create and find love.  She said that she loved me and wanted more of my happiness.
So, I followed 'God' over the lands of this planet and experienced life.  I felt wind in my short, glossy black fur and the heat of the sun on my skin. My small body would slow down and need to stop for sleep every so often. I preferred my sleeping time during the dark nights.
I couldn't wait for the next day light to arrive each day. We travelled the planets barren lands, just the two of us. Our travels only lasted for a short while, unfortunately. This new body began to feel odd.  I collapsed and fell into darkness.  I felt 'God' sit next to me and run her fingers through my fur.  I felt her confusion and concern for me as I slipped away.
I awoke as a floating soul, again.  She was sad. I did my best to stay as close as possible to her as we began wondering the lands again. During, our new travels,  'God' began adding more creations that she called trees, grass, plants, water, etc...
She was exhaling small amounts of her breath into these minor beings.  She told me this would be nourishment for my next body.  There were no more barren lands but lush terrains and oceans.
'God' was beginning to discover her creative side.  I was audience to the new sentient beings she breathed life into.  I yearned for my body back. I missed feeling physical contact. She explained to me that I am her most prized creation and wanted to perfect my next form.  I became patient and content watching the marvels she brought into existence.
The first creatures I witnessed came from the sea and swam in the vast oceans. Some were small and some were quite large with scales, fins, and gills. A few creatures developed a smooth sleek skin that let them zip through the waters fast as the wind. I loved to watch them swim so elegantly in the blue ocean oasis. I would ask, are these perfect?  The answer was always no, not yet.
I watched as giants emerged on the planets surface of all different shapes and sizes. Some were tall with long necks to reach high trees to eat their vibrant green leaves. The smaller creatures  consumed from the low vegetation that grew from the flora around them. They were peaceful and loving creatures.
We observed these beings searching for others like themselves. It didn't take long for them to create communities and families. We witnessed the creatures procreate and have their own young that they protected and cared for. They showed compassion to each other and mourned the loss when any of their members perished.
"Is this love?" I asked. 'God' smiled and nodded a yes while never taking her eyes off her loving creations. When she passed them, they would all bow and sometimes give her a nozzle. They loved her equally.
Then, one day her beloved beings started to grow differently and became aggressive.  The creatures were developing jaggedly sharp teeth and razor sharp claws.  I felt the heart break in 'God' as she watched her loving creatures lose their peaceful nature and destroy themselves. I tried to envelope her with every particle of myself to share her burden.
After an enormously monstrous being mindlessly trampled on a nest of newly born young, 'God' went silent for a period of time and began to no longer involve herself with her beloved creations.
After awhile, 'God' came out of her silence and gave a loud scream to the skies that turned into the first thunder and lightning. The winds grew fierce, the land shook, and the oceans were raising . Then, there was a sudden crash and fire consumed the planet, destroying all.
I never knew what pain and sorrow was until that day.  I felt it through 'God' and carried the pain with her.  She even burned her own physical body and "died" with her children. After the fires died down, 'God' told me that these creations were not perfect. They became monsters.  Monsters that she could not allow to continue to be.
It took along while before anything new would be brought to life. We existed in silence as 'God' punished herself for the world she created and destroyed.
I felt pure delight when she finally brought her physical form back to existence after what felt like eons passing by. We traveled to the oceans edge while viewing the charred remains of the destruction. She sat by the dark oceans edge dipping her feet into it causing it to turn back to it's beautiful blue. She dug her hands in the ground under her and the land began to return to its previously beautiful state of life. The grass began to sprout and the trees and plants grew. We watched the wind blow them ever so gently. The ocean began to break waves at the shore and create frothy foam at the waves peaks. The beauty and love had returned. 'God' was ready.
She seem to play in the clay and practice forming different creatures similar to herself. She called them "humanoid." Much time was spent here as she created and created never satisfied. The forms she rejected, she tossed into the ocean where the broke into many pieces forming into what she called, "fish." They were brilliantly colored and swam like the elegant ocean dwellers she made before. I watched them to amuse myself while 'God' did her thing.
Once she was satisfied with a design, she breathed life into it. These first creations weren't so intelligent.  These were not perfect enough for her.  They burned themselves with the fire she gave them and would even drown themselves in the ocean.
She only created a few hundred that she observed until the very last died.  She thought long and hard in silence before trying again.  This next mold looked exactly like her and she entered the being herself. She wanted to look through the eyes of this creation and how it felt in the world.  The body wore down after a bit of time went by and it perished after aging.  She reformed into her original state of being.
'God' immediately got back to work and when she was done, she had two bodies laying at her feet.  She explained that one was male and one was female, one for her and one for me.
We entered the bodies together and our new journey began.
