Summary: Jade is a doctor and Y/N falls ill with pneumonia and heads to the hospital where they get treated by Jade herself to which Jade isn't too pleased to be seeing her partner in hospital and immediately asks why Y/N didn't tell her beforehand.

Y/N's POV-

My girlfriend works as a doctor at the local hospital and I have been feeling horrendous so I've reluctantly decided to go and head to the hospital to get diagnosed and find out what is causing all of my sneezing, headaches and coughing.

The hospital is regularly jam-packed with patients since a lot of residents are in close proximity to one another which has a high chance of spreading disease and god knows what else... (if you know what I mean 😏)

"Y/N Y/L/N?" I hear my name being called as I play games on my phone so I stand up and head over to the nurse, calling names off a clipboard. "The doctor will see you now, please proceed to room six where you will be assisted momentarily."

I nod, heading to the aforementioned room before I notice something on the door...

Room 6: Doctor Thirlwall

I knock on the door and I hear the recognisable voice of my girlfriend on the other side of the door telling me to enter so I take a deep breath before entering the room to find Jade with her back turned, reading something off her computer.

"How can I help y-" She begins to greet me before turning around and seeing me standing there to which she frowns at me but remains professional and instructs me to sit down. "What seems to be the issue?"

"I've been having really bad cold symptoms, headaches and a sharp pain in my chest every time I cough." I explain it to her, trying to pretend that I am not getting assessed by my own girlfriend...

Nobody's POV-

"When did these symptoms start?" She remains professional but Y/N could see her getting frustrated already so they decide to not make this any more awkward.

"A couple of days ago, it started as a cough but it slowly developed into this." They tell her and Jade nods, handing them a urine sample tube.

"Could you take a urine sample and then we'll head down to the x-ray room?" Jade tells her partner, pointing towards the connected bathroom to which Y/N quickly does the urine sample and hands it to their girlfriend who nods, making a mental note to take it down to the testing room.

Jade leads Y/N to the x-ray and they take a x-ray photo for Jade to review and possibly diagnose the problem.

"It seems that you have contracted pneumonia from what I see here in this x-ray." Jade tells them, glancing at them. "If you would follow me?"

Jade's POV-

I still cannot believe that I am treating my own significant other right now, you would think that I would see some of these symptoms but apparently I have been blind since I never suspected anything to be wrong with Y/N. Well, I mean, Y/N rarely talks to me about how they're feeling since they assume that I can just 'see' what's wrong with them just because I'm a doctor but again, them actually bothering to go to the hospital to get medically diagnosed is better than pretending that nothing is wrong with them.

However, I am a bit irritated since they have been claiming that nothing is wrong with them despite I have legitimately heard them coughing their bloody heart out at times, especially when I arrive home from my shifts.

"So, are we gonna talk about how you've claimed to be fine for the last week or so?" I ask them as I shut my office's door. "This is your girlfriend talking to you now, Y/N..."

"I didn't want to get you all worried about me since you're always so busy with work or whatnot, baby, so I just kept it to myself which look where that left me?" They shrug their shoulders, I give them a sympathetic smile.

"Darling, your health is one of the most important things to me so don't be claiming that shit with me..." I smile at them, rubbing their shoulder. "I'll get one of my co-workers to cover my shift tomorrow and I'll come home to take care of you."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive, you matter more than my job to me so I'll take time off for you any day."

We both laugh before I send them off and their appearance suddenly cheered me up 100x more than earlier, it's like my partner is like a cup of coffee, you have one sip of them and you're wide away and craving more.
