A new friend

RONGAMAIS POV
“No way” I Scoff
“ pleeeaseee” Finn begs
“I don't know how to flirt!” I whine
“Sure, you do! You’re a princess, anyone will fall for your charm” Finn insists
“Have you met her? Shes a clumsy mess” Yuri laughs
I turn and snap
“Fine! Challenge accepted!” I fold my arms
 
When we make our way to findara and I immediately go down to the doc
I see a middle-aged man untying his boat ready to leave, I nod to the others and make my way down
“So, the weather am I right?” I come closer to the man
He gives me a confused look and nods
“Are you sure it's safe to go for a boat ride...the weather may have different plans” I bite my lip
“It's sunny” He gives another puzzled look
“You might get burnt or something, how about you come with me...I can soother you up in sunscreen” I wink
In my prefrail vision I see my friends sneaking up to the other side of the doc.
The man backs away a bit
“I'm good thanks”
“Please! I'm very concerned about your health”
“Sure, you are kiddo”
“Of course,” I went to lean onto the pole but there was none there
My heart skips a beat as I hit a cold feeling, shit.
 
FINNS POV
I watch Rongamai fall in the water in horror, Yuri gives me the ‘told you so’ look.
Luckily for us this distracted the man
“Are you okay?” He panics
“Yup!” She struggles
This is our time to strike, we all quickly hop on the boat and begin to sail just as the man turns
“Hey! Hey come back here!” He shouts
“Sorry!” I hear rongamai shout as she starts swimming towards us
She puts her arms around the boat as she swims along with it, her tail occasionally splashing above the water.
“He was supposed to fall for you! Not the opposite!” Yuri snickers
She shoots him a dirty look
“It's fine, you still distracted him” I smile
She gives a small smile back
“We have about 10 hours till we get to Valarie” I say
“isn't utopia closer?” Vivian asks
“Yeah, it is but I think it's more likely to be in Valarie...you know since vampires live there” I reply
“Can we stop in Sarichia for food? I'm really hungry” Rongamai asks
“We could just get some fish” Vivian says puzzled
Rongamai looks at her in horror
“Oh shit...that's right...sorry” Vivian looks guilty
“It's fine” She gives an awkward smile
 
RONGAMAIS POV
When we make it to Sarichia we practically run to the markets
Luckily, I had enough gold on me for everyone, we stuff our faces with food and decide to explore the market.
Vivian and Yuri split up leaving me and Finn
“So... enjoying the freedom?” He asks
“I love it! It's been scary but it's so worth it!” I ramble
He gives me a soft smile and I feel my checks burn up
Suddenly my eyes light up when I see a market stand with kittens
I sprint to it well finn tags along
“It's so cute!!!” I pick a fluffy black one up
“If you have 300 gold it's all yours!” The market owner grins
“Rongamai, we can't get it” Finn hesitates
“Aw why not look at it!” I shove it in his face
Finns' eyes sparkle as well as the cat
“n-no....” He clenches his teeth well staring into its googly eyes
I make puppy eyes
He looks between the both of us flustered
“Oh fine!” He huffs
“YES!” I celebrate
I check my coins and my heart drops
“Everything alright ma'am?” The marketer asks
“Will 250 do?” I try to bargain
“Um...no sorry” He takes the cat off me
Finn pats my head
“It's alright, we can get one when our Missons finished” He reassures
“We...?” I blush
He goes bright red
“y-you know what I mean!” He stutters
I give a huge smile and hug him
Just then we hear someone scream
“VAMPIRE!”
I let go and start running towards the sound
“Rongamai! Wait up!” He chases after me
We look around the corner of an ally to see pregnant woman and a pale girl with black and red hair
“No no! I'm not evil I swear! I just wanted to see the cute baby!” She gets closer to the pregnant woman, but the woman backs away
“Get away from me you monster!” She shrieks
“Shhhh you're going to get me caught!” The pale girl whispers
I need to help, interfere
“I can take it from here” I walk in
“oooo! You're so pretty! What's your name!” The pale girl comes closer to me
This is when the pregnant woman slowly leaves
“Rongamai what are you doing!” Finn panics pulling out his bow and arrow
“R-rong...e...mei! Is that how you say it!” The girl celebrates
“More or less, what's your name?” I smile
“My names Serena! I can't believe I'm talking to a human!” She grabs my hands and smiles
“I can't believe I'm talking to a... vampire!” I Nervously giggle
“Rongamai, she could be dangerous! Shes a V-A-M-P-I-R-E" Finn whispers
“I'm not dangerous!” Serena states firmly
We suddenly heard huffing behind us, I turn to see Yuri and Vivian
“Yay! More humans!” Serena waves
“We ran here as fast as we could! Is that...a vampire?!” Vivian says slowly pulling out her sword
“A friendly one!” I assure
“So, what are you doing in Sarichia” Finn asked
“Valire was boring, I wanted something different. I wanted to meet humans, to see if they are dangerous like us vampires say.... but you're not!?” Serena says confused yet somewhat pleased
“Are all vampires like your Serena? Have we just misjudged vampires?” I ask
“Oh no you judged them right. They are cranky and rude and evil.... I just...don't want to be like that. Hense the reason I came here, I don’t want to be known as a bad person because of my species rep” She sits down sad
I hesitate but go sit beside her, everyone else circles around us
I hug her
She flinches at first but hugs me back, tighter. I feel tears soak into my clothing
“Join us Serena...Take us to Valaire and we will shut down the evil” I hold her hands
“W-what do you mean?” She sniffles
We explain our mission to her
“So, you think us vampires are so evil because we are getting mind controlled? That this evil will turn humans into some zombie vampire....hybrid?! Do you know how crazy that sounds” she says confused
“Well not a zombie vampire hybrid...we are just saying zombie because they are brainless.... more just like a mindless vampire that follows the great evil” Finn answers
“Right so this great evil makes born vampires remain normal except for the fact they are corrupted with evil, meanwhile if the great evil effects humans everything they know and learnt will disappear and they will just roam the earth not knowing anything except to listen to this great evil” Serena says sad
“Yeah, pretty much, the humans will have vampire aspects too, like needing to drink blood, cant survive in sun for long etc.” I say
“Oooh I get it now! So, vampire zombies just means a completely dumb brainless easy manipulated vampire!” Serena bursts
“Exactly!” We all shout relieved
“One last question though...” She mutters
“Yeah...?” I reply
“How come I'm not corrupted by evil?” She scratches her head
“I... I actually don’t know” Finn looks down
“But we can figure it out! We can get all the answers we want when she shut down the great evil” I leap up and offer my hand to serena
“Please help us Serena...so humans and vampires can live together in peace” I am praying she will say yes
She takes my hand
“I will help you guys” Serena smiles
I can't help but hug her once again
Everyone's now on a buzz.... were so close...So close to ending the great evil...I'll be back in Zariya!..... I'll be back in..... Zariya....back to the elf prince....is this what I want?...
Finn seems to notice my mood shift and gives me a confused look
I Give a weak smile, he smiles back.
