They always say nothing last forever, things change and people change. There is no constant. What if I told you that, it is not the people that change. It is the mask that is taken off and the life that has bettered or gotten worse depending on the circumstance. The pieces have either been built up or chiseled away, but they are still the same person underneath it all.  Yes people "change," but when you think about it deep down it all comes down to circumstance. Lindsey knew the truth behind the statement. She was the one who "changed," but all she did was decide to let the mask fall off.  It was hard for her, but she knew she had too. She has been trapped for so many years. Trapped behind the mask, trapped behind her "so called" self. She knew exactly how it felt to wear the mask. She also knew she had at least five she needed to get rid of. One for her friends, one for school, one for her family, one for church, one for others, and one for when she wanted to try to trick herself into thinking that she was someone other than herself. After a while, she forgot who she truly was. When she finally reached her breaking point, she knew it was time to take off her mask. Little by little, she slowly peeled off the layers. All the hurt from her father, all the tears she cried over her mother, broken relationships that she has yet to get over, addictions she has yet to overcome, the loneliness, depression and all the hurt from carrying the weight of the world upon her shoulders. She brought herself down to two options. Taking off the masks and letting people see her for who she really is or getting rid of all the problems by just killing herself. Either way she wanted a way out.She decided that she did not want to face the shame, she did not think people would accept her for who she truly is, and she did not want them to know what was behind the masks. She devised a plan to kill herself. She woke up sunday morning with her plan in mind, she grabbed the gun out of the hallway closet, loaded it and put it to her head. Out of no where, a thought came through her head, a thought of all the better possibilities, the thought of what life could be like if she did not kill herself.
