Leo Valdez- Just friends

You are at your cabin, and getting ready for prom! You just got invited by your boyfriend, Percy Jackson. You put on a beautiful ice blue dress and step outside of your room.

Your roommate and guy best friend, Leo Valdez comes into the room. He sees you and smiles. "How do I look?" You ask and twirl for him.

"You look beautiful, y/n." You smile and hug him. "Thanks Leo." He smiles at you, eyes warm but sad. You frown, but don't have time to question it.

You go to Percy's cabin, giddy with happiness, and knock. You peer into the window. You grin and wait for him to answer. When you see him your face lights up, but it quickly falls.

He's not alone. He's with Annabeth. You can just barely make out what they're saying. Annabeth says, "Percy, I love you. Just do it." Then Percy replies, "I love you too, Annabeth. I''l break up with y/n tonight."

Then he goes to the door. He opens it and pales. He says, "Y/n... I-" You cut him off. "I've heard enough." You say, tears streaming down your face. "Y/n wait!" He calls, but you've already run away.

Meanwhile, Leo has been watching through you shared window. He can't hear you guys, but he's smart enough to know what happened. "That son of a $#%&^!" He mutters to himself. He sees you walking back and quick sits down on the couch. " We're just friends..." He says to himself sadly.

You start walking back, but you don't wanna upset Leo with your ramblings. So you decide to head to the prom dance anyways.

You get to the dance, and are amazed. It is winter wonderland themed, and you wish as much as heck that Percy was still your boyfriend. But no. You can't think like that, he- he's with Annabeth now.

You sit down at a table, and Hazel Levesque, your best friend walks over to you.

"What's wrong?" She asks. You just glare at Percy. She looks and gasps. He's slow dancing with Annabeth and they're both laughing. The nerve!

"Wh- what happened!?" Hazel asks. You stare at the floor. "Did- he- Oh- gods- is- Annabeth?!" You nod glumly. "Gods y/n, I'm so sorry! How could he do that?!" "It's not your fault, Hazel, I don't know, but can I just be alone right now?" You say. "Are you sure?" She asks. You nod and she leaves, giving you a reassuring look, letting you know it will be alright.

One hour later, you're exhausted from crying for so long. You start to eat more (favorite comfort food) , when a shadow falls over you. You can tell it's not Hazel by the shadow. It has more of a masculine build. "

"Percy?" you ask. "Yesssss, I'm Percy" A voice says teasingly. You look up and see Leo.

"I heard what happened..." He says in a softer voice, and sits down next to you. He rubs your back reassuringly. You sniff, then break down crying.

He pulls you into a hug and you bury your face into his shirt. You just sit there for about 10 minutes, you sitting there and Leo comforting you. Then you realize something.

Leo has always been there for you. He's never said anything to hurt you, and he always compliments you. And when you kissed Percy for the first time, you felt guilty, but had no idea why. You think back to all the times when campers said Leo liked you.

"We're just friends" You'd say. He always knew when to be funny, when to be kind, when you needed space...
You remember all the times you talked about Percy, Leo smiled, but there was a type of sadness you could never place.

You pull away from him and gasp as you realize. "What's wrong? " he asks. A grin slowly forms on your face. "Ok" he says. "Now you've officially gone insane. Whats up?"

"I- I freaking love you Leo Valdez!" You say. He freezes. Then he lets out a nervous laugh. "Haha nice prank where are the cameras??" He asks. You give him a confused look. "It's... Not a prank Leo."

His eyes widen.

You don't hesitate. You kiss him. You feel his body tense up, then it relaxes. He grabs the back of your head and kisses you back passionately. When you pull away, you think happily, "Now we're more than 'just friends'.
