days, weeks on the road, going no where in particular.

sometimes eddie is so quiet, it feels like he isn't there, so richie has to look over at eddie to make sure he still is.

thankfully, every time, he's still there, either looking at richie or looking out of the window. richie smiles at eddie every time.

"eds," richie whispers.

"yes?"

"i need to tell you something." richie pulls over the vehicle.

"what is it?" eddie focuses his eyes on richie.

"i lo-"

crash.

richie and eddie both goes unconscious.

what felt like forever later, richie wakes up, and eddie is right by his side smiling.

"i love you too, richie."

the ambulance isn't there, though. not even the car that hit them, but there's broken glass and blood, but they both seem perfectly fine.

they get out of the car, but things seem unfamiliar. maybe it's the new roads, or probably a new town, but things felt off.

things didn't feel real.

"spaghetti? i need you to be honest with me."

"yeah?"

"do you know where we are?"

eddie paused, looking at richie as if he should know the answer.

"no, i know as much as you do."

shit.

"rich?"

"yeah?"

eddie didn't reply, but he did kiss richie softly on the lips, really softly.

like a ghost had just touched him.

richie smiled.

it was his first ever kiss.

and he had it with the boy he's loved all his life.

"you're my everything, eddie spaghetti." richie smiled.

"i shouldn't be. no one should be anyone's 'everything'." eddie said.

"why not?"

"because, things happen, and if you revolve your life around someone, and something happens to them, it'll hurt." eddie said.

and something felt familar with those words, like he had heard them, or seen them somewhere.

"eds, where did you hear that?"

"i don't remember." eddie shrugged.

they were still on the road. no car. no nothing.

but somehow, richie felt safe. like nothing was gonna happen.
