Chapter 9.

"I know where you are."
My fingers clutched my phone tightly in my grasp, and my arm started to shake. How had he found me? He must be bluffing. He had to be. I couldn't open my mouth, I tried and ended up parting it like a goldfish and then closing it again. My mouth was dry and I started to tremble. I could still hear his breathing.
It seemed like eternity as I waited for him to speak. Cautiously, I glanced down at the broken glass and gulped. Hopefully it hadn't woken anyone.
"Did you hear what I said?" He questioned at last in a sing song voice. Stricken with fear I nodded, only to remember he couldn't see me.
I went to answer, but a quiet whimper escaped instead. I closed my eyes and tried to breathe deeply to calm the pounding in my chest.
He laughed again. A deep, throaty, sinister laugh and I waited. "You're more foolish than I thought. I assumed you'd be smarter than this, Asha. You disappoint me."
Whilst he spoke, my legs threatened to buckle so I carefully waddled over to a bar stool and stiffy placed myself down. The phone was still clutched tightly to my ear and my fingers were starting to turn white. "It won't be long now..." He whispered.
I couldn't help myself, and gulped before I quietly asked, "Until what?"
"Ah, she speaks." He exclaimed in triumph. I could practically picture his smug grin. "It won't be long until you're by my side once more, albeit it be willingly or forced."
"Y-you can't force me. I won't l-let you." I bit out painfully. I was scared, but I wasn't going to let him threaten me.
Instead of answering he sighed. "It's such a shame Noah joined the Dura Lux Pack; too bad." He said sarcastically. "It's very misfortunate that when I come for you there's not a single thing he can do to stop me. And if he tries...well. I won't hesitate to kill him."
Before I could stop myself I muttered, "Like you killed my family." Shocked, I clasped a hand over my mouth and mentally scolded myself. He couldn't know I knew.
"What was that?" He questioned, seeming agitated.
"Nothing." I whispered.
He sighed, but I could tell he was still smug. "Oh well, we'll have plenty of time to catch up when I pick you up in two days."
"Two days?" I questioned in shock, my voice low.
"Of course. I can't wait to see you, and I'm sure you can't wait to see me. But you're in a lot of trouble, Asha; I wouldn't get too excited." He said the last part menacingly, and I knew what he really meant.
He was going to hurt me. He was going to take me, and hurt me. I knew he would, but it all seemed too real hearing it from him. I grew angry. He wasn't going to hurt me, I wouldn't let him. "Good luck catching me. Thanks for the headstart."
He laughed again. Was this really that humorous to him? "Asha, Asha, Asha." He sighed. "If you even think of escaping me, I'll kill Noah. And I might kill that old lady...Jane, is it? Would you like to watch as I rip her limb from limb?"
"No." My voice shook.
"I'm sorry, would you like to try that again?" He threatened.
I gulped and my lower lip trembled. "No." I said, louder this time.
"Good girl." He said condescendingly. "Now, remember-"
"Asha?" A voice said behind me.
I swung around to face a sleepy looking Noah, his shirt and boxers rumpled. He took a step towards me and I tried to compose myself.
