Great!!! First day at school and I've made sqwat friends just a rather troublesome enemy, challenger, rival. Whatever she is, she was going to be a pain if I didn't do something. I knocked my head against the book in my hands. Think of something brain! anything! I need ideas on how to make freinds not enemies. My chest suddnely felt funny and I glanced. Oh now don't you start. You're the cause of this remember?! Am I talking to my heart? why am I talking to my heart in my head? Who does that?
I sighed to myself and held the book against the table flicking through the pages as the annoying sound of the whiteboard marker screeching against the board began to become intense as well as the sound of the clock ticking away the seconds of my life wasted in looking at black markings on a page. I began to tap my foot against the floor staring at the clock watching how slowly the red line moved. If my mum find out I've made an enemy instead of a friend I'm pretty sure she'd kick my back side for being un-freindly.
But it wasn't my fault anyway. She set the challenge which meant I was going to have to play her game otherwise things will just even more troublesome. Where's Jean when you need her. Jean was my best friend and yes I do have one. Everyone does. She moved about the same time I did in year 5 and we kept in contact over facebook although seeing her face and not watching it move and speak unsettled me sometimes and as if on cue my phone vibrated. I knelt down and pulled it from my shoe. Yes you heard me, my shoe. I tucked it into my boot so I wouldn't drop it anywhere. I glanced at the message.
Hey Flexy Grapie look to your right.
I glanced and saw someont lean over their desk slightly a smile on her brown lips as her tanned skin came into view her eyes black and her hair. She winked at me and sat back normally.
No way... Was that you Jean? I txted back.
What do you think...?
I chuckled at her reply glancing at her. She'd changed. Her hair was straight as was her posture and for once she wasn't crying.
I think you are an older version of a crybaby Jean.
I heard her supress a laugh. She was two tables away.
Thanks for bringing up good old me! ;)
I laughed slightly and saw the teacher turn so I put my phone in my pocket and held my book in front of my face a huge grin on my lips that I hid. As I glanced at my phone on my lap.
Soooooo sitting next to you at recess and lunch! XD I txted
Sooooo hugging you after class. :) She replied.
I had a smile on my face till the bell rang then without warning I bolted over and tackled her until she stumbled backwards and hit her head against the back wall with an 'oomf' sound. I tightened my hold until she gasped slightly and them let go so she could breathe. She laughed and put a hand on my shoulder nodding.
"It's good to see you too." She said. I smiled feeling almost teary. she walked past me lightly and began to pack her bag as people walked out and I walked over to her.
"How have you been? I miss you?" I told her with a smile.
"I've been good and I missed you too. When did you get here?" She asked me. I smiled she really had changed. She never used to be so polite with her words but then again she always thought about the consequences which was the complete opposite to me.
"Not too long ago but now that I think about it. It was too long ago." She chuckled and slung her bag over her shoulder making me rush to grab my book. Not having my bag was going to be a pain.
We walked outside and talked and talked as she walked me to my next class. I found that we had three subject together. Arts, English and Maths. We just had english so we'd see each other again at Maths before lunch and Arts after lunch. Jean walked me to the classroom and bidded me farewell as in she actually said 'I must bid you adew' making me roll my eyes. We're not in the 50's.
I opened the door then regretted it instantly when I saw the girl from before. She was sitting in the front row surrounded by people. I put on my best fake smile as the anger from before lit itself inside me. I could only image the look in my eyes when I walked over to her with my fakeness plastered ont to skin. I decided to make my play as the students looked over at me and closed the door. I walked over to her and put my book onto the table beside her then truned around.
"Thank you for being to friendly to me earlier. I'm new so it's hard for me to make freinds." I told her. F*** you, you F****** B****! and with that I sat down. She smiled with reflecting the same fakeness and stood walking over to me she leaned with a hand outstretched.
"Glad I could help you." She said. I looked into her sending my rage into hers when I held her and she held my glare with an icy one of her own. I felt a growl erupt inside of me and supressed it. Born in the year of the dog what'd you expect for me to be timid and kind? F*** that!
The door opened and I released her hand so she could sit and glanced a that the teacher her bottom strands were black and the top of her head was blonde but you could see the black roots. Is she trying to look like a bumblebee? I tilted my head. She was wearing a floral top with black tights and black high heels making her bumblbee head look like it landed on a flower. I supressed my laughter while the B**** next to me giggled with her group behind me and behind her.
"Seems like you've made a new friend Clare." No Clare isn't my name. So I searched for the girl named Clare.
"Freinds are important Miss." The girl next to me said. My anger simmered as the gradual excitement for a challenge began to replace the anger. Clare... Interesting.
"We'll see about that." She said with a nod. I sighed at least one teacher could see Clare for who she really was.
"Now class today is about floral arangements. I'll bring up the photoshop that I want you to use and you'll have to make me a digital flow arangement by thurdays and since todays monday you get four days. Any questions?" I raised my hand and the teachers eyes widened it was as if she didn't even see me until then.
"Ah yes... Erm Lilith correct? Lilith Pearl correct?" I nodded and felt that icy glare on me again making the excitement to outshine Clare volt through me but then it disapeared when I remembered what I was going to ask.
"Yes Miss. I was wondering what if you don't have a laptop, or a computer?" I asked. The whole class went silent and all the attention was on me.
"You don't have one?" The teacher asked me. I nodded my head and saw suprise enter the teachers eyes.
"Well then you'll have to figure out a way." She told me turning to walk behind her desk. I felt my anger grow gradually and I stood skidding the chair slightly making her turn to me.
"I have a way." I told her. she raised an eyebrow.
"What would that be?" She asked me.
"I want to make my own flower arangement from real flowers." I answered.
"Miss how do we know that she won't just get a florist to make her one?" Clare asked. I glanced at her and she smirked so I smiled deeply which made confusion flicker onto her face.
"If I may Miss. You bring me the flowers and plants on Thurday and I'll make it into a flower arangement in front of everyone. Is that fair enough?" I asked and I looked at Clare with a smirk. She wants a challenge fine but you know what I'm changing the game.
"Very well. I'll bring the flowers and you make an arrangement here in front of the class on Thursday. Now can I get on with my lesson?" I smiled and nodded sitting down. F*** the boyfriend! I'm taking everything!
