Part 1 introduction.
Astridlia is a continent of great hardships and hostile climate scarred by war, in its center is the magma mountains where the Dragonfly kingdom resides, they rule the Magma mountains and the ash desert that surrounds it, but their kingdom is surrounded by other kingdoms that warred with each other.
Some kingdoms wage war for dominance and territory, while others wage war for either glory or faith.
Part 2 geography and climate.
Astridlia has 5 ecosystems, in the east the Rain-lands, in the south the Sand-lands, in the west the cold-lands, in the north the mild climate island of Halantis, and in the center of the continent the Magma mountains. In the Rain-lands there are the kingdoms of Jadedia, Ladurai, Insectum, and Bokuden.
The Rain-lands's climate are humid and tropical, it's dotted with rainforests, plains, waterways, rivers and it frequently, like it's namesake, rains for hours, sometimes days. While the conditions in the Rain-lands are comfortable in the lands of Astridlia second to the island of Halantis, it was not however immune to hardships as some parts of the Rain-lands were sometimes over populated leaving people little to no food on there plate, and droughts would occurred from time to time leading to widespread famines, but Kingdoms of the Rain-lands were able to endure these hardships and quickly return to prosperity, the civilizations of Ladurai, Jadedia and Bokuden developed the most richest cultures in all of Astridlia.
The strongest power in the Rain-lands is the Jadedian realm, they field one of the largest armies in the Rain-lands, though Jadedian armies are not highly trained, strong or powerful they are however disciplined and organized, they built a massive wall in the northwest border of their kingdom to keep out the monsters of the cold lands and series of fortifications to keep out the Insectum.
the second strongest power in the Rain-lands is the Bokuden shogunate, while the Bokuden shogunate's armies were smaller in size to Jadedian armies, they're armies were more disciplined, organized, stronger and have an extreme prowess in battle making them strong enough to challenge the jadedians and launched campaigns into their territory with varying degrees of success, But they were never able to achieve a lasting victory due to them using their full strength against the Jadedian realm fearing it would leave their southern territories undefended and were eventually driven out by the Jadedians.
The third strongest power in the Rain-lands is the Insectum Theocracy, they are fanatical in their worship of the Divine three and have numbers that exceeds the Jadedian realm's numbers, they wage crusades against a few or all of the other kingdoms of Astridlia if say their missionaries were attacked or their holy relics were stolen or to spread word of their religion or when a Cathedral dedicated to the Divine three gets desecrated by non believers, or just simply felt that they needed to cleanse a neighboring kingdom of impurity, despite having huge armies of fanatical warriors they never manage to make permanent gains as they either get pushed back by the other kingdoms, or if a heretical uprising occurred in their homeland, then they are forced to pack up and return to their homeland in order to quell the heretical uprising.
