Hyunjin was late to his 10am class but that wasn't unusual. He rushed around his apartment, grabbing anything that smelled clean enough to wear. He hopped out of his room, pulling one of his shoes on before running down the hall, tying his hair up in the midst. He slammed his apartment door shut and couldn't remember whether or not he had locked it.
"Fuck, I can't fail this class," he grumbled to himself, deciding that the stairs would be faster than waiting for the elevator, he only lived on the third floor. He rushed towards his car and drove as safely as he could which wasn't too safe but he made it to campus without killing himself or anyone around him so he was safe enough. He hurried over to the traditional arts building, the other academy students moving out of his way as to avoid being tackled. They all watched the tall male in pity. Normally, Hyunjin would've been embarrassed but with only 7 minutes to get to class, he couldn't be bothered to care.
Or at least he didn't until he mauled over a poor student.
Hyunjin sent both of them flying to the ground and to their misfortune, they landed on concrete rather than the patch of grass next to them. Hyunjin had barely managed to catch himself on his arms, refraining from crushing the boy though his head did manage to hit the ground, not very hard but it still must've hurt.
"Oh, fuck! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you, I swear! It's just, I'm late to class and—" Hyunjin rambled as he got up, instantly offering his hand and picking up the smaller boy.
"Ah, it's okay," the shorter nodded, rubbing his head in pain. Hyunjin felt terrible.
"No it's not, I really am sorry," Hyunjin checked the time on his watch. He had five minutes. "Is there any way I can make it up to you? I did almost destroy your skull," he winced in embarrassment.
"Really, it's okay, you're having a bad day, don't worry about it," the purple-haired boy smiled at him tentatively and Hyunjin felt he could melt at the kindness though he still felt extremely bad.
"But I am going to worry about it, so please?"
"You—"
"Meet me here at 12? I'll treat you to a meal?" Hyunjin glanced at his watch. Three minutes.
"You really don't have to—"
"No, but I really want to. Sorry, I'm gonna be really late but I'll meet you here, okay?" Hyunjin started walking backwards to the traditional arts building that was luckily already insight.
"I—okay," the shorter nodded in defeat, waving at Hyunjin. The taller grinned, waving goodbye and then sprinted the rest of the way to his class, managing to make it just seconds before his professor walked in. He let out a breath of relief, taking out his laptop and beginning to take notes.
Hyunjin was relieved when the torturous class was over. He packed his things and made sure he had his wallet before heading to the spot where he nearly knocked out the fellow student. He cringed every time he thought about the incident. He reached the spot and half expected the other to not be there, as he understood that his apologetic and dramatic behavior may have freaked him out.
The lavender-haired was there, however, looking around nervously. Hyunjin smiled, making his way over quickly.
"Hey, thanks for actually coming," he rubbed his neck awkwardly. The shorter was a bit startled at the sudden voice but he gave Hyunjin a smile nonetheless.
"It would've been really rude of me not too after agreeing," he laughed quietly.
"I mean yeah, but I wouldn't have blamed you. I'm not too sure I would've agreed to lunch with someone who tackled me NFL style at 10 in the morning," he shrugged. That made the shorter laugh, little wrinkles forming at the ends of his eyes. "I'm Hyunjin by the way," he extended his hand to which the other shook. His hand was engulfed by Hyunjin's though neither mentioned it.
