Ch 1 Arrival

        I sat in the back of the taxi legs numb from the 3 and half hour long trip in a plane and a 50 min ride in a vehicle with some man I don't even know. It's mid-December and the ground is covered in snow. It cascaded all over houses and trees. I never seen snow that often, I live in Florida and I remember snow vaguely from my childhood.   It's quite beautiful. It looks like it would be clouds one the earth surface clouds... Mom told me that's how Ohio is always in the winter...
      I can't help but to contemplate about why everything happened the way it did. Why did my dad do that to me why did he let her do those things to me? What did I do? The past 7 years why? I felt my eyes tear up they were already puffy from crying my whole way on the plane they were sore, I couldn't afford to look like I was crying when I seen my mom I haven't seen her in 4 years since my dad moved to Florida with me and his "wife".  "How much longer sir?" I asked trying to sound like I wasn't about to cry as I gazed out the window at the huge houses covered in snow we slowed down in front of this amazing brick house. "Here you are ma'am" he said as he stopped and parked I rubbed my eyes. He has to be messing with me "You're kidding right?" I said as I ran my hand down to the edge of the buckle and looked at the timer that read $34.09.  "Actually yes, lighten up you've been dead quiet the whole ride, I don't come to work to sit in silence with strangers I come to work to meet new people." He said as he looked back at me. I sighed, "Okay sorry" I said as I readjusted my hands on to my lap and gazed out the window again and he sped back up. "How long have you been a cab driver?" I asked him though my gritted teeth, I always hate talking to new people. "Five years now." He said as he tapped his fingers to the beat of "long hot summer" by Keith Urban which was weird because it was winter. "Oh..." I said and continued to look out the window and watched as we passed more houses. He slowed down again. "You, best not be messing with me again I said as I tapped my fingers on the window pointing at the house It was another huge brick house."Nope" He said in amazement. My mom was standing on the front step waving and then sprinted to the taxi her long brown spiral curled hair bounced as she ran over. I hopped out of the taxi and hugged my mom I felt a tear run down my cheek into my red hair. "Hey, I don't mean to interrupt but, the timers still running that will be $40.69" the cab driver said as he rolled down the window my mom pulled out her check book and wrote a check as she was doing that I grabbed my 2 duffle bags from the back seat and she finished as soon as I did "come on there waiting to see you Mia" my mom said as she escorted me up to the huge house. We walked up the steps, I turned around and waved to the cab driver, I got an eerie feeling as I turned back as if something terrible will happen I bit my lip and walked inside into a well decorated hallway with a mirror on the right side purple flowers and a wooden cabinet and a wooden stair case with metal rails. Simply beautiful. My sister Stormy was making faces at me she is 19 and going to Arts College for video game creator she is excellent at her arts she will make it far. She walked up to me and hugged me "I missed you" she said as she buried her face in my shoulder "I missed you too." I said as I squeeze her back tightly. "DINNER!" a male's voice yelled from the kitchen. Already? I looked at the clock on my wall 7:52... Well then I grabbed my bags. "Hun your rooms the 3rd room on the left" my mom said with a smile ear to ear. She did something. I ran up the stairs and down the hall to a bright green door with a fancy handle. I placed my hand on the door as I gasped at my room it was green walls with stairs to my bed a computer desk, I ran down the hall way and the stairs because I heard a scream.
