Lukas followed Jesse out of the house with his sword drawn.
"I think it came from the waterfall," Jesse said quietly. Lukas nodded as they both peeked from behind a tree to see a skeleton floating in the water.
"Alright, here's the plan. I'll tackle it, you stab it in the head. Got it?" Jesse said.
"Did you come up with that just now?" Lukas asked.
"Yup. Now, come on." Jesse used trees as cover as he inched closer to the waterfall, and when the trees ran out, he sprinted into the skeleton, knocking it over and getting soaking wet in the process. Lukas then ran out and stuck his sword in its head. For some reason, Jesse was laughing.
"That was awesome!" Lukas chuckled slightly.
"I guess that's one word for it." Jesse got up and shook himself dry, splashing Lukas. Then seemingly out of nowhere, Jesse's face fell and he ran over to something.
"What is it?" Lukas asked, catching up with him as Jesse knelt.
"He's hurt," Jesse said.
"Who's-" Lukas looked past Jesse to see a baby pig cowering against a tree. It had a scratch on its leg. Jesse took a carrot out of his inventory and held it out. The pig ate it almost immediately. Jesse held out another carrot, this time slightly further away, and the pig limped forward to take it. Jesse then pulled out a bandage, and the pig limped backwards slightly.
"It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm just gonna help your leg feel better, okay?" Jesse said in a soothing voice. The pig seemed to understand, and sat still as Jesse wrapped the bandage around the wound. The pig seemed to feel better almost immediately, getting up and running in circles around Jesse. Jesse chuckled and petted him on the head. Jesse then picked him up and stood up. He turned to face Lukas with massive puppy dog eyes. Lukas sighed.
"C'mon. We can take a better look at his wound inside." Jesse's face completely lit up and he practically skipped back home. Lukas followed, unable to stay mad at Jesse.

Lukas raided his chests while Jesse sat on his bed with the pig next to him.
"What do you think of 'Reuben'?" Jesse asked the pig, as if he could understand. Weirdly, he seemed to, and snorted happily. Jesse laughed.
"Reuben it is! You find any more carrots, Lukas?"
"No. What else can pigs eat?" Lukas asked.
"Potatoes, I think?"
"None of those either." Lukas closed the chest in frustration, then sighed. "You up for finding a village?" Jesse smiled.
"Sure! It'll be like an adventure! Plus, villages have cats!" Lukas's eyes lit up, and Jesse smirked but didn't say anything. He then stood up and began to put his armour on, Reuben hopping off of his bed at the same time. "C'mon! We're losing daylight!"

Jesse stepped over the now completely dried puddle of blood, then smiled.
"Remember when you first saved me?" Jesse asked. Lukas frowned.
"Yeah. It was scary. I do not recommend going out at night." Jesse scoffed.
"Says you. Feels like ages ago, doesn't it?" Lukas smiled and they continued walking. "So, how do we find a village? Just walk around and hope we'll run into one?" Jesse asked.
"Um, yeah, pretty much. They're kinda just scattered all over the place."
"Hear that, Reuben? So you're gonna have to snort if you see one, okay?" Reuben snorted happily.
"Why're we bringing him, again? Couldn't he have just waited at home?" Reuben glared at Lukas, and Jesse looked similarly unimpressed.
"We don't know how long we'll be gone. He could starve by the time we get back. Plus, he's my best friend!" Jesse said.
"I guess. Hey, I thought I was your best friend. You just met him!" Jesse chuckled.
"Looks like someone's jealous."
"Of a pig? No way," Lukas said, pretty much whining. Jesse laughed again.
"I thought we were a little beyond friends by now," Jesse said. Lukas looked at the ground, and Jesse frowned. "Hey, we don't have to be if you don't want to."
"No, no, it-it's not that! I'm just not good with words." Jesse smiled.
"Heh, that's alright," Jesse said as they both stopped walking.
"Do you really think it's a good idea to go over water?" Lukas asked, looking out towards the large river in front of them. Jesse smiled.
"C'mon, this is like our first real adventure!" Jesse was almost shaking with pent-up energy, and Lukas knew he didn't have much of a choice. He smiled.
"Alright. I'll make a boat," Lukas said, placing his crafting table. The look on Jesse's face alone was worth it.

"Look, Reuben! A dolphin!" Lukas looked to his side to see Jesse leaning halfway off the boat and pointing to a dolphin. Lukas laughed. Jesse continued to point out random little things to Reuben, such as turtles, bees and sometimes even just fish. Then he was silent for a few seconds, and soon he abruptly shouted,
"Stop!" Lukas immediately stopped rowing and followed Jesse's gaze. There was a village, but there were no villagers in sight and it was covered in cobwebs.
"Oh, man. I remember this. I spawned pretty close to it and went to it for food, and I got ambushed by zombies. I think we should keep looking," Lukas said.
"Dang, right after you spawned? That's rough."
"Yeah. I also almost drowned while trying to swim away," Lukas said, scratching his neck and blushing.
"Jeez, how many times have you almost died?" Jesse asked.
"Um, a lot. I was pretty unlucky," Lukas said while beginning to row again.
"No kidding," Jesse said, smirking.
