𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐚 sat in the back of the classroom as time ticked on, not focusing on whatever heart-felt speech the teacher was raving about. Something about being the "very best person you can be" At least that's what she gathered from the very few words she heard when she tuned in occasionally. Sabrina Davis, her best friend, sat right next to her, slouched in her chair as she looked across the classroom. Both girls were bored out of their minds.
"Are you excited for summer?" Isabela asked, turning her body to Sabrina.
"Of course, we get to be high schoolers next year!" The girl became giddy at the thought.
"That's what you're excited about? Not the tons of fun we're gonna have?" Isabela chuckled.
"Easy for you to say, you hang out with high schoolers all the time." Sabrina lightly nudged the brunette.
as they conversed, the sound of a truck driving up became louder and louder, then came the sound of screeching feedback from what seemed to be a megaphone. Many kids rushed over to the windows, Isa included, she peered over to see Benny in a confrontational stance, facing the classroom window next door.
"Okay, you freshman fucks, listen up! It's your lucky day. Usually, you spend your freshman summer getting your asses busted and running for your worthless little lives. But this year, because we feel so sorry for you, we're gonna take it easy on you and save us all a lot of time. So if you meet here right here after school today, you'll only get one lick from each of us. But you run like cowards, well, it's open season all summer long, boys." Benny yelled into the megaphone.
"Oh, yeah, Mitch Kramer?" Isabela knew that name, He was Jodi's younger brother, she had a few classes with him, but they never spoke, and if they did it was about minimal stuff like what day it was, what time it was, etc.
"Mitchie? Mitchie, Mitchie, Mitchie! We're lookin' for you, pal. Your ass'll be purple before the day is over!" Isa cringed as she went back to her seat, worried about what'll happen to Mitch if and when he gets caught.
"Shit.." Sabrina cursed.
"This whole thing bites, I mean who goes after freshman boys for fun?" The brunette had never been overly fond of the Senior traditions. I mean why couldn't they do something else? Like spray paint parking lots or something.
As the hour closed up the boys were practically on their toes, most of them waiting by the door, or begging the teacher to let them go out early.
Just then the bell rang, and kids began sprinting out the door. The two teens followed the crowd and walked through the crowded hallways, papers being thrown around, backpacks getting emptied out, the entire school campus was filled with laughter and the sound of feet shuffling.
