Amara's POV

It's been two weeks since the big fiasco and I'm stressing about the party that is in only a few hours from now. I got into my car getting ready to drive out when my phone rang.

Alex: Where are you going?

Amara: Why are you asking?

Alex: Because it's work hours and you are leaving the compound?

Amara: Who are you to determine where I go and stay get off my phone.

I hang up on him and drove off, like how dare he ask me that, I don't care if he's my soon-to-be boss, he shouldn't be asking me that. It's not like he cares or anything. I head to the venue of the upcoming  party to finalize the decorations and the plans overall, I worked too hard to fail or I would freak out.

Hotel Manager:  Ms. Williams good morning, we have a few things to finish up before the big day.

Amara: Would you like to state them quickly, I don't have all day. (I usually sound mean when I'm working, after all I am getting paid to work not to be the most popular employee in the building)

Hotel Manager: Well, the seating arrangements?

Amara: What about it? You sound so unsure about it we did go through this already?

Hotel Manager: Well I got a call today from your boss saying that the to be CEO will sit with his girlfriend, Ms. Von Gera.

I flinched at the mention of her name

Amara:(screaming) what!? at least two days away from a big event and it's today he says this oh and wait Alexander didn't make me aware of this sudden change.

Alex: I'm so sorry, I figured you would be here so I got here as quickly as I could.

Hotel Manager: I'll just check on the chefs and see if everything is ok.

Alex's POV

She looked at me with a hate I never saw there before, the anger was clear on her face that even the manager took off. I probably should have told her of the sudden arrangements my wonderful father made.

Alex: Listen, I'm really sorry about what's happening, I know you went through a lot to get this all together for the hand over ceremony.

Amara: You don't say! well now I know little miss my world my rules will be attending, so I'll print her name and put it right beside her little hubby-wubby.

Alex: you don't have to do that, I don't even want her there. You do understand that my parents are the ones doing this right?

Amara: I am quite aware but you never argue with them now do you? It's always been that way as far as I can remember.

I hold her hand in assurance but all she did was pull away and rolled her eyes.

Alex: How many more times am I to apologize to you for what happened and plus it was years ago. I would think we would be pass this.

Amara: Well if I must remind you if all was good would I be going back to the office to print her name!?

I stare at her not sure how to answer

Amara: that's what I thought.

Later that evening....

Amara's POV

I had gone home to prepare for the event tonight. As I got out of the shower I wondered if I should just not go overall but then remembered I have to be there to see that all goes well. It was never easy being the CEO's secretary, but I try to keep up with my soon to be ex boss and it's only gonna get worse. I did my hair and makeup but not to much to look like a scare crow, slid on the dress I bought and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked great but was not sure my confidence was going to be high the rest of the evening but I had to keep a face to act tough as if I had no problem with what was about to happen. Checking the clock it was 7:00 and I rushed out with my heels in hand and grabbed my hand bag and keys.
