Chapter One

Today was the second day of school back from winter break for Lenex and the rest of her town. Waking up early in the morning putting her long curly hair up in a high side ponytail was the normal school morning routine.(Lenex is the girl that you see walking to school in the darkness of the morning with her headphones blasting in her ears.) That morning she was on her way to school and she noticed a car coming down the road. It was a misty black range rover. She has never seen a car like this go down this road before, frankly barely any cars are seen coming down this road. But this car gave her a weird and off putting feeling in her stomach. Lenex started walking faster and at the same time she was looking through her contacts to find someone that would answer the phone at this time. Lenex found her guy friend, Harold. She knew for sure that he would answer! He would be driving to school right about now. Lenex hit the call button as fast as possible on her IPhone. The ringing waiting for him to answer felt like it was synchronized with her heart beat. When Harold finally answered she turned around to see if the car was there. It was gone. Lenex thought to herself, maybe it just turned down the street. She really hoped that was the reason. Lenex was trailing off in her thoughts and getting distracted by the thought of the misty black car that was just a moment ago traveling down the street.

Harold was waiting on the phone and a little worried that Lenex hasn't said anything. Harold said in a clammy voice, "Lenex, are you ok? You there?"

Lenex heard a voice come through and was wondering how she should answer. Was she ok? Should she say anything about the car? Lenex thought, maybe it was just a mistake and that car took the wrong turn down the wrong street. She told Harold that she didn't mean to call him and that she would see him at school.

Once Lenex got to school she saw Harold sitting in his car and she went to his car and hopped in the passenger's seat. Harold was listening to the radio and for about two songs they were having their own little dance party in his truck, until Lenex saw the misty black car that she saw on the way to school. Her eyes were just glued to the car while it was pulling into the school parking lot. Harold then saw that she stopped dancing and singing and looked to where her eyes lead to. Lenex was waiting to see who was gonna come out of the car. Is it a student, parent, substitute, or visitor?
