Kellan's entrance to the empire made way to a stronger security force, allowing for quicker and stronger reactions.

Kellan was wandering under the city, he is waiting for someone to tell him about more work to do, however he wanted to give Urzael the souls he collected from red level threats and above. Urzael blinks in front of him. The dark halls dimly lit by the liquid ether coursing through pipes  with glass panes on the sides, a calm, blue glow, for such a strange transaction.

"How many did you collect this year? Sixty? How sad that many do harm to the empire, but our security has been keeping it in check, we've almost expanded across the entire world." Urzael remarks, Kellan nods, and confirms his guess. Then he summons his scythe, Urzael stands motionless as the essence of the souls transfers from the tip of the scythe, making an ethereal line between them, to Urzael's hand. Kellan's eyes and hair lose their color, from a pink iris to almost as dark as his pupils, hair black as the night. After the transfer of souls, they had a small conversation.

"So, over the year, what all has changed? Now that I am an elite mage, I might try my hand at becoming a lord, to lead the internal security, Iado is good, but I think I can take him." Kellan said, Urzael moved his hand to beckon him to walk with him out to the upper city.

"Yes, you probably could. Also, we've come up with such technology, liquid ether matter, pure, condensed energy. But we've also been seeing more and more demons appearing from what we named 'The Chasm'. We've explored the depths of The Chasm and found gel imbued with the same elemental mix that demons use. In the caves we've explored, we found portals, to the dimension known as the abyss. The void, where you're from, is below the abyss." Urzael explained, they were still walking, almost to the exit to the upper streets. Kellan seemed interested in the abyss.

"So if demons are coming from the Chasm, and the Chasm has portals we can't close or don't know how to yet, leads to the abyss, then the abyss is where all demons come from?" He asked. Urzael nodded.

"Yes, The abyss is the home of all the demons, they're called abyss demons for a reason, you know." Urzael said, and smirked. As they reached a pad that elevates them to the surface. They both stepped on the pad and started ascending.

"To think, that in only a year, me and my little bro would be fully clear. Also just look at the empire, and how much it's grown!" Kellan said, as they reached the surface, they were in one last room with a door before them, when they walked out they found themselves in the great streets of the mage capital, Xalengard. The streets are paved with obsidian, and decorated with silver. Each building is made from a kind of quartz, enchanted to have heat insulation, even though even the weather is controlled.

They made their way to the market square in that sector, people were wandering around, looking at many things. Urzael notices Breeze in one of the shops, he blinks over to her. Kellan follows and some are surprised to see them. As Urzael and Breeze are talking about things they were going to do later, they heard a scream from across the square. Kellan blinked over to the origin of the scream, he saw a man collapsed in front of one of the stalls, upon further inspection he found a spike went through one of his main arteries, the hole expanding with every heartbeat. Kellan started reading all the thoughts of those around him, and found his answer, he blinked directly behind the culprit, summoned his scythe, and took a slash at him, he dodged and started throwing more and more spikes, Kellan kept dodging and eventually cut down the criminal. Slowly, the soul of both started flowing into his scythe. After both souls were completely within his scythe, Urzael decided to teleport next to Kellan, he looked upon both victim and culprit with dismay.

"You know, you could have saved the victim before chasing after the attacker, and saved one of the souls lost today." He told Kellan, to which he realized how wrong he was. "You still need to remember that life has value, and our only goal as, for you an elite, for me a lord, to protect our citizens, and bring justice to those who are evil. Though personally, I think that 'justice' is just a way to sugarcoat punishment of those who have committed criminal deeds." Urzael continued.

"I'm trying to correct myself, sorry. But each day I find myself more connected to this empire, despite how relatively new it is, it's growing well, and as it grows, it becomes harder to keep the peace within our borders. But when we aren't on the war front, we will be ready to fight the battles our people have. For now, let's clean up here, the citizens still seem rather unnerved." Kellan replied, with that, the three cleaned the two bodies, Kellan went back to the palace to make the report, while Urzael and breeze went to a rather remote area.

"While no, we don't need to go to and from in peace, it's nice to have more tricks up our sleeve, eh?" Urzael said to Breeze. She nodded, and formed a portal. They both stepped through, and they were inside their home, a rather large Victorian manor. They went to the upper floor to their rooms, and took the first real time to rest they've had in years. Urzael contemplates his home.

"I mean, I live in my own pocket dimension. It's nice, but it's boring with just me and Breeze living here. I may need to find some friends I can trust and allow them to live with us in our dimension." He said to himself, then wonders why he can talk to himself, as there's about a million people in his mind to talk to. Regardless, he reached his room, he lays down, and takes the first real rest he's had in several years.
