Chapter Three

Lenex collected her stuff, shoving it in her bag and rushing out of the classroom, to her second period. She looked back while walking down the crowded hallway and saw a bit of Harold's curly hair, peeking through the top of the crowd. Lenex knew that her next period was with Harold so she knew that he was going to ask her about what happened this morning. Lenex had to think what she was going to say to them. Lenex was walking into her second period class, just as she was sitting down Lenex knew what to do. Distract him away from that topic, but how? Lenex decided to talk about choir, which was next period, and what songs they were singing this semester. That topic held for just enough time 'til the bell for class to start. For the whole class Lenex and Harold were copying notes off each other. Lenex was so ready for lunch time. Both Lenex and Harold's stomachs were growling so loud, and they knew the class definitely heard each and every single one.

Lunch quickly approached and Lenex found herself laying down in the choir room, where her and her friends normally ate lunch on the days they had choir, waiting for Harold to bring her a lunch tray. Lenex's head was just constantly thinking about how hot Cole was. Lenex thought his mysterious look was so attractive. She awoke from her daydream, when she heard her stomach growl. Lenex looked up at just the same moment that the choir room door opened. She thought it would be Harold so she jumped up to the door, but then it ended up being Cole. Lenex looked down at her feet when realizing it wasn't Harold.

Cole looked at Lenex and said, "Where is the choir director?" Lenex, still looking down, pointed in the direction of the director's office, and walked by to the back to the table and jumped back up to it. She heard all the other people, sitting on the floor by the table, talking about the new guy that walked in. One of the girls tapped Lenex and asked her if she knew his name. Lenex told them his name then she saw Harold walk in with both their lunches. She got up and moved to the corner of the room. They both sat down and put their backs against the walls. Lenex shoved her face with the chicken nuggets Harold brought, while Harold was chowing down on his burger and fries. Lenex didn't say a word to anyone once Harold brought her food except to Harold, which was thank you, until the choir director called Lenex and Harold to her office.
