Mairin had woken up for the weekend to the sight of someone in her bedroom. The person in the room with her sighed an exasperated sigh.

Mairin: It's morning? Who's there?

Person in the room: Who's there? It's Alain, of course. Did you sleep well, Mairin?

Mairin suddenly grew alarmed at the person in the room with her turning out to be Alain.

Mairin: Huh, Alain?! What are you doing in here? Where did you come from? Why are you in my room?

Alain: If you need to know what I'm doing in your bedroom that badly, the professor sent me to your room to wake you up, and I came from beyond your bedroom door. And now that you are awake, we can go down to the kitchen to get some breakfast...

Mairin suddenly looked at herself in the mirror and screamed at the sight of what she saw.

Mairin: My hair's such a mess!

Alain let out a mild chuckle at this concept.

Alain: Not to worry, Mairin. I'm used to you looking like that in the morning by now. Whenever I come in here to see you sleep, you act just like a guy. You're snoring, spread eagle, drooling, you even talk in your sleep a little.

Alain suddenly realized what he had just now confessed to have been doing towards Mairin in the past. He covered up his lips, but it was already too late to stop his words from coming out.

Mairin was angry at Alain once again. This time, however, it was for something other than rejecting her invitation to join her and the rest of the lab staff on the vacation she had so graciously offered them all on Solaris Island. This time it was for Alain admitting to having seen her sleeping in her room before now and coming across to Mairin's views as a pervert.

Mairin suddenly had a good mind to beat the life out of Alain.

Mairin: Why you! Be quiet, you pervert!

She then settled simply for throwing her pillow at him. It still hurt Alain, however, since he was revealed to be allergic to feathers at that moment.

Alain: Ah, stop it! That hurts.

Alain then sneezed up a storm at the pillow that was tossed at him.

Once they had settled their differences and made it downstairs to the breakfast, he had graciously prepared for them, Professor Sycamore surprised Alain and Mairin once again by showing them free tickets to the Pokéland Amusement Park in Lumiose City.

Mairin: You mean to tell us that you got free tickets to the Pokéland amusement park here in Lumiose City?

Mairin had sparkly eyes upon asking her question-like statement. Alain saw no point in going on the rides when his own Charizard and the rest of his pokémon could easily compete with any of those overpriced thrill rides.

Professor Sycamore: No, my young friends. You two got free tickets to the Pokéland Amusement Park here in Lumiose City. I got these tickets from the daughter of the park's owner and operator as thanks for helping her decide which type of pokémon she should evolve her Eevee into. Her mother and father were so grateful to me for it, they wanted to give free passes to yours truly and anyone of my choosing to come to their amusement park for a day off from research. I told them that there were no thanks necessary, but they were so insistent on giving me the tickets.

Mairin: Well, since you're giving the tickets to us, I suppose you'll let Alain come with me.

Professor Sycamore: Oh, I won't just let Alain go to the amusement park with you, Mairin. I intend to beg and plea for Alain to accept the offer.

Alain was in the middle of eating his breakfast waffles when he heard this, and he nearly choked on them upon hearing from Mairin and Professor Sycamore that he was invited, too.

Alain: It's a little bit early to go, isn't it? Maybe Mairin and I can go another time...

Alain's brain: When we're on better terms with one another.

Mairin: Well, even if Alain doesn't wanna go to Pokéland today, I suppose I could always ask Monsieur Pierre's young nephew, Jean Paul, to go with me today instead.

Alain was even sipping on a glass of Pecha juice when he had heard this, and when Mairin even just mentioned her newfound love interest, Jean Paul, Alain actually spat out his Pecha juice even with just how sweet it had really tasted. Then, he started to cough for a little shortly after he spat it out.

Alain: Mairin, you do know that we can always honor the passes another day, don't you? There's no need to summon Jean Paul from what would probably be a busy and hectic schedule, as Monsieur Pierre's nephew.

Alain mentioned Jean Paul's name in bitter jealousy, but Mairin failed to notice Alain's jealousy. She only fought his comment with a reply.

Mairin: You know that if I don't go with Jean Paul, you'll have to come with me, right?

Alain just blushed at the mere thought of going with Mairin to the Pokéland Amusement Park together, yet alone.

Alain: Fine, I'll go with you to the amusement park. Just don't turn this whole thing into a great, big production, if you can refrain from it. I would also like it if I could have the permission to refrain even from only pretending to like the amusement park and its overpriced thrill rides.

Mairin: Oh, shut up, Alain. Pokéland isn't all thrill rides. There are some things to do at the amusement park that don't even involve riding on anything.

Alain: Really now, Mairin? Such as what?

Mairin: Oh, come on! There's the 'Exhibition Hall of Pokémon Evolutions', 'Deoxys and the Outer Limits', there are even calmer rides like 'Carracosta's Prehistoric Log Flume'.

Alain: I thought that one only started out calm and turned into a wilder ride along the way. So, I believe that would mean that 'Carracosta's Prehistoric Log Flume' really wouldn't count in case if that were to be the case with it.

Mairin: What about 'Elgyem's Future World'? Does that sound like a calm enough ride for you?

Alain: Better example, but I could do without the attitude.

Mairin: Let's just use the professor's tickets and go to Pokéland today. Come on, Alain. It'll be fun.

Alain just could not refuse Mairin whenever she would beg for him to spend time with her during such a time in their friendship. He let forth a sigh of defeat to Mairin.

Alain: Fine then, let's get going, Mairin.

Professor Sycamore: Really now? Where to?

Alain: Pokéland! Where else?!

Professor Sycamore: Now, now, Alain. There's no reason you need to bite my head off when you answer a simple question I ask you.

Alain headed out the door with Mairin, anyway, and off to Pokéland they went.
