Information About the Characters

Information about the Characters:

Main Characters:

Adora - I read about how Adora was originally going to be black in the reboot, so here we are (I'm also sticking with that idea mostly because those black Adora edits are BEAUTIFUL!!). I also let my headcanons spill free here so right now, Adora has black eyes and hair and is a dark skinned trans woman. I made her and Adam identical twins (idk if it's the same in the og) so it makes sense that one of them is transgender if they're of the opposite gender. Glimmer - Her voice actress in the reboot is of Japanese decent so that's where I took the idea of Japanese Glimmer. Once again, headcanons, Glimmer is Blasian (Yes, I made Angella Black). Her hair and eye color are the same, I just changed her hair type to 3A and darkened her skin while making her olive undertones still noticeable. For her clothes, they ressemble more the ones we saw in the portal episode of season 3 but with my original touch to it. Glimmer will also get wings after her coronation because I'm still salty we got wing-baited for 2 seconds during that episode.Bow - I got rid of the crop top gag because I just cannot stand it, sorry not sorry. Bow's gonna have more to him than "I like crop tops/exposing my mid drift and that is somehow a very important part of my character". In later books, Bow is gonna have cornrows, kinda like Lonnie but without his undercut cut since he let his hair grow out a little. 

Other Princesses:

Perfuma: I did some research and couldn't find anything that confirmed Perfuma's ethnicity or anything like that, so here's me taking some creative liberties again. I made Perfuma Latina, more specifically Puerto Rican, I even put its flower, Flora de Maga, in her design. I changed her hair type to a 2C and made it a light brown, but other than that, I didn't change anything. Mermista: There weren't any big changes I wanted to do with her design, most changes are with her personality, I made her less... Well mean? I don't know how to describe it, I kind of lessened the ughhhhhh-o'meter. Kinda like, is "hostile" to everyone but her friends, especially Sea HawkEntrapta: Guess who made Entrapta paralyzed from the waist down and is now very scared people aren't going to like it but I do because it makes my little disabled heart happy? The same person that made her pigtails to be braided because I love braids, they're really pretty. Also, for her mobility aid in the beginning, it's like a backpack and when she activates it, there are 4 very flexible robot arms that hold her up while the other two are substitutes for her legs. She later on builds Emily and since that backpack broke, she uses her to get around by sitting on top of her. Frosta: I aged Frosta up, she is 13 years old now and she took over the Kingdom of Snows when she was 11. As for her design, her hair is longer and braided in pigtails. Later on in the series, she's going to dye it blue. I also gave her inuit tattoos, I'm doing a lot of research on them but I hope actual inuits can take the time to correct me if I'm doing something wrong! At the beginning of the first Book, she has two V shaped tattoos on her forehead (Which I think represent entering womanhood.), lines on her wrists (her family) and others on her knuckles and fingers (for hunting or making traditional clothes). Scorpia: Her design and character will stay the same except for her habit of invading other people's spaces. I also made her Chinese!

Horde Members (former or current)

Shadow Weaver: I added more things to her character I sadly cannot reveal yet because spoilers. The only thing I can say is her behavior towards Catra (even Kyle, Lonnie and Rogelio) is different than in the reboot and is even similar to how she is with Adora but she still very obviously plays favorites. Hordak: I changed him a lot because I like where his character was going or how he could be if he was given a proper redemption arc. I added some factors that made him more easily redeemable though. In this rewrite, he isn't a robot and neither is Horde Prime. He has some parts to him that are definitely not humane but that is because he's a clone. I also kept the physical disability coding the reboot was going for and tweeked it a bit. He is paralyzed from the waist down like Entrapta (Paraplegia) but it's partial. Meaning, there are times he isn't paralyzed. Even then, he struggles to walk so he either uses a cane or an exo-squeleton machine to help. Lonnie, Kyle and Rogelio: Siblings dynamic because yes. Catra and Adora were also part of their group growing up but Catra stopped being friendly with them once Adora left the Horde. Rogelio and Adora were the oldest so they took care of the other three the most. When Adora left, Rogelio just became even more of an overprotective older brother. Kyle is the middle child of the group, he's the peacekeeper between everyone when Adora and Rogelio couldn't (or wouldn't) deal with it. Lonnie and Catra are the youngest and they butted heads all the time over the dumbest of things. Rogelio is nonverbal most of the time so he talks in sign language (Everyone in the Horde knows sign language as a way to talk discreetly in missions for example). Kyle is more confident than in the reboot and he doesn't get picked on by the group. Lonnie grew up admiring Adora, like a little sister admires her older sister sometimes. Part of her arc is becoming her own person, not a carbon copy of Adora (I'm also hoping to do a parallel with her and Catra)Catra: I completely changed her backstory and honestly, I'm proud of myself for coming up with something like that. I'm not going to reveal the best parts of it yet, but even when I do, you won't even know. The only thing I can disclose is her redesign without saying the reason behind it. Catra is a monster. Her biological mother was cursed to give birth to a monster that could take the form of someone's worst fear. Her biological family still loved her despite this. They named her Catherina, and nicknamed her Catra because of the form she took to hide her real one. Catra's fake form and real form both have black fur with white fades and her eyes (or even her whole body sometimes) change color or other things when she feels a strong emotion, that's one of the only things the two forms have in common.

And other characters that I changed up just a tad because why not.

Double Trouble aka, Dorian. They're a human and a sorcerer, more specifically Sorcerer Norwyn's grandchild. Their shapeshifting is replaced by a spell to alter their appearance. They are still overly dramatic from time to time but they don't make people uncomfortable or invade their personal spaces. Also, the bit where the original DT spies on children is replaced by them helping out their mom who runs a daycare for the children of Mystacor. They make a brief appearance in Book 1 but they'll make their debut in the ending of Book 2. They're going to cause a character's death so you might want to stick around for that lol. Angella: I didn't change much about her, I just changed her outfit to be more royal and less like something that could kind of be practical for fighting-ish since she doesn't fight (Queen who stays behind and all that jazz.) Oh and she can hide her wings by the way, and so can Glimmer. Angella wasn't always immortal, she just chose to be when the war first started so she could win it (she was very young then), and she actually met Mara when she was about Frosta's age. Micah and Castaspella: We were robbed of their relationship as siblings and a proper reunion and I'm very salty about it (I'm salty about a lot of things). I made them twins as well by the way. They were both involved in the obtainment spell with Light Spinner, but Castaspella was the Catra while Micah was the Adora if that makes sense. Both of them got scarred on the face from that incident too, not only SW.
