I groaned and looked at the alarm next to me, reading 6:45. I remembered that I needed to pick up Luke at the airport. Of course I didn't have to since I wasn't getting anything in return. I should though since I stayed up until 2 listening to Luke ramble on about a girl he saw who was going to sit next to him.
Of course it wasn't for him, it was for me.Luke was one of those "the timers tell the truth" type of things where he believed in what the clocks told him. His had 8 years still on his and he wasn't giving anything up. Too bad Luke was fairly attractive and could probably get any girl he desired.
After staring at the ceiling for a few minutes, I decided to get up from my spot on the bed and walked over to my closet to get a towel but I noticed something on my wrist. There was a time. My eyes widened at the new numbers on my wrist. It said 2 days 3 hours 15 minutes and counting."Oh my god", I whispered and rubbed my wrist, watching the 15 turn to a 14.
"Luke is gonna flip", I whispered under my breath.

"Finally", I murmured to myself as the plane successfully landed. It was too long of a flight and I could not wait to get to my aunts house and sleep.I stood up from the spot that was equipped with an IV in the cabinet, more comfortable seating, and a "more urgent" flight attendant button, to grab my bag.
As I reached up and tried to grab what was apparently too high up for me, a boys arm reached up and grabbed it for me."Here", he smiled.
It was the same boy from the beginning of the flight. Leo? Lucious? Lucas?I nodded and smiled back, "Lucas right?"
"I usually go by Luke", he chuckled and I moved along the aisle with him behind me. "And you're..", he said bringing out the r, "Taylor"
"Yep", I giggled and stepped out into the airport, looking around for an exit, and for my aunt.
"You moving or coming back?" Luke asked beside me. I looked at him and he smiled down at me. "A little bit of both", I breathed out and he shoved me with his shoulder slightly.
"I knew I noticed a slight accent", he chuckled. "Here", he said and I looked down to see a small piece of paper with a number on it. "On the back is a number that belongs to my friend Calum, he'll show you around Sydney". I took it hesitantly and turned around to see a sloppily written 'Cal-pal' at the top and a number under it. I chuckled and put the paper between my phone case and my phone, which also held an american 5 dollar bill. I guess I won't be needing that anymore
"Thanks...but how do I know you're not serial killers? I could be walking into my death right now", I said and he shrugged.
"You could but...nobody can kill you at a record store. And that's where Calum works", he said matter-of-factly.
"That doesn't...help-", I started. "MICHAEL!" Luke yelled in my ear and I shied away from him. Luke started moving towards a boy with bright pink hair and I stood awkwardly in the middle of the airport, watching the two talk. I looked around more, watching the sun creep through the windows, and the dust floating around it. Part of me is thankful to be home and part of me is knowing that Oregon was home, and I'm gonna miss it. But I know that here is where I'm going to be happy. I'm going to find a purpose here.
"Taylor!"
"Taylor!"Two voices snapped me out of my thoughts and I saw Luke looking at my aunt Andrea, and Andrea smiling like no tomorrow. I nodded at Luke who gave me a curt smile and I walked over to Andrea who moved forward and engulfed me in a hug.
I pulled back to smile at her. "Oh my sweet baby, it's so great to see you up and around!" she exclaimed and gave me a kiss on my cheek.
"It's great to see you too", I mused, and gave her a small smile, "Your cousins have missed you so much! We're gonna let you rest and tomorrow we're gonna have a barbecue! Everyone will be over!".
I was smiling on the outside, but on the inside I was having a minor anxiety attack. I hate parties, and I'm gonna hate seeing my family more.
But I just smiled at her. "Great!"

"No way!" Luke lifted up my arm and looked all around it, watching the minutes go down.
"Yeah! It's crazy, huh?" Luke was one of my closest friends, and we've known each other since high school. Yes he was loud and annoying sometimes, but I'm not gonna say that I'm not.
"Maybe God's given you a break", he chuckled and pulled his phone out of his pocket to answer it.
"Hello?...Taylor!"
"who's Taylor?" I mouthed to him and he waved me off.
"I told you that Calum was your tour guide...he didn't? Oh! Well Calum and I are at a record shop down on Main street, if you want to head over and we can show you around...oh yeah jet-lag...maybe tomorrow?.........your cousin works at a record shop? What's his name? ASHTON?! Sorry for yelling in your ear, anyway we know him! He works at the same record shop! Wanna come to work with him tomorrow? Please? Pleaseeeee??? Please please please please- YAY! See ya tomorrow, Tay... OY don't yell at me I won't call you Tay, okay? Heh, that rhy- Hello?"
Luke turned to me with a stern face. "Answer your phone next time. She wanted to know where the nearest McDonalds was", I chuckled at the strange request.
"Who's Taylor? And why am I her tour guide?" I organized the records into order while talking.
"Taylor is the girl I met on the airplane", he explained with a smile. "Her timer said 3 days, 2 days now", he winked. "Your timer mysteriously started"
I shook my head. As if.
