Gaya finally reached home with Edna and wanted her son and his wife to meet the little beauty. The blacksmith at first grew more fond of the little girl but his wife felt insecure right from the start. She thought if she had kids in future Edna might be a problem to them and started hating her from then. The blacksmith had no options but to listen to his wife and it was now left only to Gaya to nurture Edna for she was unwanted by others.
Time is a bitch for it waits for none and days passed as seconds . The blacksmith had two daughters of his own who were just like their mother. During these years Gaya's health started to deteriorate as she was struck hard by the rogue in the beginning. Edna was made a slave by her foster mother and was never given freedom for anything. They beat her up when she left the choirs undone and always put her down with their filthy words. The foster sisters did the same and they never considered her as a part of the family.
Gaya could only watch it silently for she was completely bedridden, she waited everyday only to console Edna for her foster mother's ill doings. She would always cuddle closer with Gaya whom she called grandmother and listened to her words carefully. She always said Edna's fate would be different from others and that she was a soul keeper. Edna really likes to listen to stories about weird beasts and woodlands, especially the endless mountains.
Gaya secretly reminded Edna that she was special who was going to change the fate of time and she had special powers. "Wait for your time, my Edna" thought Gaya to herself for which she replied "How long grandmother?" which surprised Gaya for her mind reading capacities were usually in and out and not continuous. Edna had a feeling that she was never alone and always had a company but really did not know by whom she was watched, not in a weird way though.
The only companion she had other than her grandmother was her sixth finger. Indeed rather than a body part she felt it as her friend. A friend who could listen to her and console her, who would believe in her and protect her. Her foster mother always thought of her as a bad omen because of the sixth finger. Her foster sisters often caught her talking to her finger and rather had doubts if she had lost her mind at times. But to her it was totally different, every time she touched her finger she had bolts of electricity pass through her.
This feeling was a reminder to her saying silently that something or someone was longing for her in the dark. She often heard his voice during sleep and could feel his pain but never got to look at his face properly as the dream was always blury. He always seemed to be happy but deep inside had an unnoticed memory, even he could hardly remember. She very badly wanted to meet him but more often thought it was a dream until one day she heard a smile in his memory and a name "Ella".
She wanted to go out and explore more if not for her grandma who needed her support and love. For Gaya feared when she was gone the rogues would come back for Edna . Little did she know there was an entire army of dark witches and werewolves waiting just to tear apart her soul into shreds, for she is the key to unleash their greatest threat that could destroy them completely.
Seasons slowly passed and it was a very cold winter which the villagers never expected. Edna was worried for Gaya who was already ill and took great care of her. Slowly everyone in the village started falling sick due to some change, nobody was dead but everyone fell sick. There came a woman who claimed she could help the village and indeed her medicine saved them but as of Gaya she said she could do nothing but asked Edna to give her medicine.
By now Gaya had completely lost her ability to speak and the only means of communication was when Edna could read her mind. And so Edna along with her foster family brought the medicine to save Gaya's life just like others but she refused to take it even after Edna insisted so many times. She had tears which Edna could not understand and finally the medicine was forced into her throat by the woman who helped others which led Gaya to pass away peacefully into another world.
Before she let out her final breath she thought to herself "wolfbane" which Edna captured and reciprocated. The woman was shocked and asked her how she knew the name of the medicine. Edna did not answer her question and could only grief for her grandmother. An ear piercing howl was heard afar which made everyone shiver and the woman who gave the medicine disappeared in no time.
The howls started to increase in number which came from the endless mountains and it was as though the world was in grief for the death of Gaya. Who was this mysterious woman? Wolfbane will kill a werewolf ,then why did she give it to Gaya? Did she capture the ability that Edna could read minds? Who was grieving for Gaya's death? Whom did Edna meet in her dreams? Who is the "he"?I am Dream Catcher and travel with me to find more answers. Mellow Reading .
