Chapter 2: Old Wounds

Timeskip 5 years

(Y/N) age 18, Yang age 17, Ruby age 15

(Y/N)'s POV:

After all these years, i still remember what they did to me.

(Y/N): BAH! WHY CAN'T I JUST FORGET?!

All this time all i did was killing. But i only kill criminals and abusers. I'd never want anyone to suffer like i did. The semblances i collected through the years are countless. I'm the most powerful being in the world.

Ozpin's POV:

Ozpin: Team RWBY, report to my office immediately.

After 10 minutes they arrived.

Ruby: What's wrong, sir?

Ozpin: I have a mission for you. It's about those killings that have occured for the past 5 years. We finally know where the killer is.

Yang: And let me guess, you need us to find him?

Ozpin: I want you to stop him. By any means necesarry.

Weiss: So we should...

Ozpin: If it comes to that, yes. The bullhead leaves in 20 minutes. Now go, you are dismissed.

I took a sip from my coffee.

Timeskip 30 minutes

Ruby's POV:

Ruby: Yang.

Yang: Hm?

Ruby: Do you think we'll have to kill him?

Yang: Well, if it comes to that. But i'm sure he's just some random thug. He can't beat the four of us, right?

Ruby: Yeah, i guess you're right.

The bullhead landed on a building and we got off. We jumped down on the streets and started looking for the killer. The better idea is to not split up so we stayed together. I heard punching from around the corner and saw a guy getting beaten to death by what i assumed was the killer. The beaten man's body fell to the ground.

Killer: Abusive swine, criminal swine. They'll all end up at the slaughter.

(Y/N)'s POV:

I was done beating the criminal to death. I didn't even need my chains to kill him. I wiped the blood from my hands and turned around, only to see two faces that i never wanted to see again. They didn't recognize me because of my mask. I started walking the other way without saying a word.

White haired girl: Hey! Stop right there!

Ruby: You have to answer for your crimes!

I stopped.

(Y/N): Get out of here before you get hurt.

Yang: Screw this, let's fight.

She took out her gauntlets and charged at me, ready to punch me. When she tried to hit me i stopped her with just one hand.

Yang: What the-

I threw her backwards into a wall.

(Y/N): I was gonna let you go, but now i'll break all of you. Don't worry, i won't kill you. For old times sake.

I used Ruby's semblance to get behind the white haired girl and grabbed her.

(Y/N): GIVE IT UP!

I saw the semblance i got.

(Y/N): I'll make good use of this.

I threw her to the ground. After that i got to the black haired girl and grabbed her by the neck.

(Y/N): I'll give it back. Promise.

Her semblance flew through me.

(Y/N): I'm no stranger to shadows.

I threw her into Ruby. Then i started to create shadow clones of myself covered with ice.

White haired girl: W-What?!

Black haired girl: This can't be!

(Y/N): Attack!

The clones attacked them. Yang got up and she and Ruby attacked me at the same time. I pulled out my chains and grabbed yang but missed Ruby. Ruby managed to hit me with her scythe. I punched her and she hit the wall. I threw Yang on top of the other two girls who were beaten up by my clones. I walked over to Ruby.

Yang: R-Ruby...

She blacked out.

(Y/N): You've gotten better. But not good enough.

Ruby shot me in the gut, making me fall to my knees. She got up.

Ruby: And yet, i'm better than you.

(Y/N): Heh... it'll take more than that to kill a dead man.

Ruby: I have more.

(Y/N): ...good answer...

Ruby: Take the mask off... and die with honor.

(Y/N): Hehehe... I have died once before... I wasn't given any honor then...

I removed my mask.

Ruby: *gasp*

(Y/N): ...and i doubt it'll be coming my way soon... Shhhh... Remember... Just. Our. Secret.

Ruby started to cry. I turned into smoke and flew away while laughing.

Timeskip 20 minutes

I was on top of a cliff watching the sunset.

(Y/N): So, they are back, huh? I don't want to kill them. At least...not yet. I'll make sure Tai sees his precious daughters dying. It felt good to throw them around. I just feel kinda bad for beating the other two. They didn't do anything to me. Hmmm...If i ever see them again i must apologize.

Back at Beacon:

Ruby's POV

We entered Ozpin's office.

Blake: Sir, we found the one that killed all those people.

Ozpin: And?

Yang: We failed to stop him...

Ozpin: I see. I think i'll have to take matters in my own hands.

Weiss: Just be careful. He somehow used mine and Blake's semblances.

I just stood silent knowing what i saw.

Ozpin: That's concerning, but i'll manage. You're dismissed.

We walked to the elevator.

Ruby: *whispering* It's just our secret...
