Just another moment in time|| Raeda

"Date" night

It hadn't been a rainy day, but it hadn't been sunny either. It was just one of those days, where you want to stay inside with popcorn and a Harry Potter movie. So that was what they were going to do. Eda had called earlier that day to ask if they wanted to come over, and of course they WANTED to, but they had been at work all day. So they agreed to meet at 8 o'clock, which was in 30 minutes. Raine knew that they would eat enough candy and popcorn to throw up from at Eda's, so they decided to eat a small dinner. They opened up the refrigerator and looked around, until spotting the remaining pizza from yesterday. They grabbed a slice and a plate, opening the microwave door and setting the timer to 30 seconds. They walked to their room to get changed -not because they were supposed to look all fancy- but because they were still in work clothes. Raine opened the closet door and took of their shirt. That's when the microwave beeped.

Ugh. They sighed

Always with the great timing! They thought. They shifted their attention back to the clothes hanging in the closet, looking around for a bit until grabbing their favourite black hoodie with the quote: stop stressing over shitty people on the back. It had been a present from Eda. She had gifted it to them on their birthday back in June. They grabbed a matching pair of sweatpants -without quote- and put them on.

Gotta look somewhat good. Raine thought while quickly looking at themselves in the mirror, before walking back to the kitchen. They opened the microwave door and took out the -now lukewarm- single slice of pizza. They took a seat on the couch and turned on the TV.

Meh... nothing interesting. They thought, so they turned of the TV again. They got up and walked over to the kitchen table still munching on the pizza. They grabbed their phone to check the time.

Shoot. Raine thought

I gotta be there in 10! The time had flown by and Raine was now jogging around the house to find a bag, but gave up quickly and dumped the remaining pizza in the trash can. They jogged out to the entry way and put on a pair of black converse shoes. They grabbed their keys from the gold sprayed metal table and locked the door behind themselves. They swung themselves on their bike and checked the time again.

"Damit" Raine said when they saw that they were already 1 minute late. From their house and over to Eda's was a 10 minute ride.

I also forgot my helmet... they thought. But they weren't going to turn around now. Not when they were already late!

Eda had just finished putting out the last few blankets when she checked the time on her phone.

8.03... hm. She thought while walking to the kitchen. She grabbed a bowl from one of the kitchen cabinets and turned on the microwave with the popcorn pack inside. She went to her contact and clicked on Raine🎻✨☁️🧡 she started typing but deleted her message again... but then she decided it couldn't hurt checking up on them. She read through the message before sending it. It read:
Hey Nerd. Where are you? You good?
And send. She put her phone down and watched the popcorn pop. At first there wasn't much of a gap between the pops but when they didn't pop so frequently anymore, Eda opened the microwave door and shook the bag so the popcorn wouldn't stick to it. She ripped it open and poured it into the bowl. When it was all out of the bag she crumbled it up and threw it out. She grabbed the bowl and held it under one arm while walking back to the living room. The fireplace was sending sparks in every direction behind its glass cage and the wood was crackling. Eda shifted her attention back to the couch with all the blankets, the TV and all the Harry Potter DVD's on the brown wooden table. Just as she had zoned out the doorbell rang and she jumped.

"Gee!" She exclaimed but then smiled and ran to the door, taking a quick look in the mirror before opening up.

"Hey Rainestorm" she said smiling brightly. She stepped aside so her friend could step in.

"Hey" said Raine while stepping in.

"Im so sorry I'm late i just forgot the time and... you know" they said and Eda just laughed causing her friend to blush and giggle.

"You know what?!" She said and Raine looked at her with a question mark planted on their face.

"You have the most perfect timing!" She then said.

"Haha yeah right!" Raine said laughing.

"In what world is 8 minutes late perfect timing?!" They said

"Well i just finished the popcorn so come on" Eda replied and the both walked past the kitchen and the fireplace, into the living room. Raine looked around noticing the candles and blankets their friend had put out -for them- and when they looked to Eda she was just starring at them with a smile. Raine could feel their cheeks turning red and Eda just quickly looked down, and grabbed a Harry Potter movie.

"So which one do you wanna watch" she said smiling awkwardly at them. Raine thought for a moment -trying to remember which one was Eda's favourite.

"Number 1" they said hoping they had remembered correctly. Eda smiled and grabbed the movie.

"Perfect that's my favourite" she said while putting in the DVD. Meanwhile Raine jumped on the couch and grabbed one of the fussy blankets Eda had put out and watched as their friend put in the DVD. When she turned around she smiled and jumped over her wooden table and onto the couch. Raine offered her some of the blanket which made them both blush.

"Ready?" Eda asked smiling at them

"Always" Raine said smiling back.

1 hour 36 minutes into the movie:

They had finished the popcorn and Played Hexes hold'em but throughout the whole evening Raine had just whished to snuggle into Eda... but that's not something friends do... Right? When they had sat in silence for about 10 minutes Raine was about to get up to put away the empty bowl of popcorn. But Eda's head tilted to the right and she was now on Raines lap...

Oh! Raine thought blushing up very quickly.
What now?! They thought sitting in an awkward half-up-but-didn't-get-up position. They leaned forward to see if Eda's eyes where closed...
"Phew" Raine exclaimed in relief. Her eyes were closed...

This is nice to... they thought. And not after they scrunched down beside Eda. So they were kind of laying in a spoon position... but Raine was too tired to think more about it. And a short time after both friends where asleep.
