Fourteen year old Violet Manchester sat restlessly at her school desk. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, listening to her neighbor, Jace Robin, tapping his pencil on his desk.
"Will you stop that." She hissed. He looked at her annoyed.
"I don't see what's wrong with my pencil tapping."
"Mr. Robin! Remember Mrs. Manchester is ADHD, she can't stand distractions." The color rushed to Violets face, and she looked at the floor. Her super crazy ADHD brought her a lot of unwanted attention- especially from Mr. Foster.
Just then the bell rang. It echoed through out the entire school, making my ears ring.
"Saved by the bell." Jace smiled evilly. I sighed, he was so wrong.
I stood up and walked out of the last class of the day. The ocean of students miles and waved as she passed. Violet wasn't the most popular kid in school, but she was pretty well known and had a lot of friends, that is because no one knew about her freak father, or her stupid mother.
Violet grabbed the rest of the books from her locked and placed them n her bag- she wanted something to do over the weekend while she hid in her room. She stuffed her books in her locker and walked outside. She laced her skates up, and stuffed her shoes in her bag.
She stood up, and everyone stopped, this as thee favorite after school activity. Three students raised there hand, and stepped forward.
"We are the chosen ones today!" Said the first, his name was Mark.
"Yep! I am so exited!" That was his girlfriend Annie.
"I am totally going to beat you! I have been practicing for this moment!" That was the football captain, his name was Avery.
"Alright boys and girl, who's first?" I said with a smug smile.
"ME! ME!" Yelled Annie, a big smile on her face. I nodded and motioned for her to come over. A few teachers gather around to watch. Annie jogged to her side.
"To the light post! Mrs. Betty, will you judge?" I said, turned it to the smiling, plump, short teacher who always judged the contests.
"Of course! I am honored you would ask me!" She said in her sweet old lady voice. She walked aver to the light post about twenty feet away. "THREE!!" She cried. I positioned myself. "TWO!!" Annie started to do jumping jacks. "ONE!!" We both stood on out toes. "GO!!" The world stopped. I pushed hard on my blades, flying over the ground. In no less than twenty seconds I stopped at Mrs. Bettys side. Annie was halfway across the distance of the race. She laughed,
"You are stupid talented Violet!" She said, smiling. It wasn't embarrassing to loose to me in a race roller skates against feet. I had been mating since I was four, and I was a natural. I, of course, easily beat Mark and Avery.
I skated home that day, across the New York streets to my fathers house. I took of my blades outside the apartment building, and went inside. I rapped on the door to let him know I was home, and pulled out my key to walk inside.
