Yuki's POV:
"Yes, that's correct. Apply a bit more pressure to the knife so that they can be cut easily." Momo said, as she supported me by holding my hands in hers.
I was learning how to cut vegetables from Momo. It was me who insisted her because I wanted to learn how to make a vegetable sandwich, we usually have it for breakfast. This is my first step towards learning how to cook, because since the past years, I've only been observing but never tried it myself.
"Also, try to cut the potatoes a bit thinner. See, like this." She continued, taking a potato in her own hand to show me.
"I see, okay." I replied, now trying to cut the potato like her, but failing miserably.
"Oh, no! I messed up!" I said, holding the potato in my hand.
I tried to cut them into a thin shape, but ended up cutting them into smaller pieces since my knife didn't cut through the entire potato.
"Haha, no need to worry! Even I faced the same problems, but you'll definitely get better over time." Momo said, patting my head.
"Okay!!"
"Also, please remember an important thing. You should always hold the knife only by its handle, don't let any of your fingers touch the blade or you might get hurt. Moreover, in this way, the control over the knife is also easier so you'll be able to cut comfortably and safely. Remember this, okay Yuki?" She said, having completed her explanation.
"Yes, I understand. I'll always hold the knife by its handle!"
"Such a good girl! Okay, now I'm going to get ready, since I'm getting late." She said, preparing to dash into her room.
I'll just clean up all this mess by the time she gets ready. After a few minutes, I finished my work and Momo was about to leave the house. But I stopped her with my words as she was wearing her shoes-
"Wait, Momo! You remember that you have to come to today's open house, right?" I asked her.
"Yes, yes. I remember and that's exactly why I'm in such a hurry. If I complete my work early, I'll be able to reach to the open house early, as well. Okay then, take care, bye!!" She replied, waving her hand with a smile.
I waved her back and went back inside our room. Well, I say our because Momo and I stayed in the same room. Then, I decide to revise some of my chapters to prepare for the upcoming test. After about half an hour, I switched to watching the T.V. which we had installed in the room just a few months ago. It was a good source of entertainment for me, whenever I felt bored.
Then by the time it was evening, I tied my hair in a ponytail and set out to go to school. As I walking on the way, my mind began to reminisce about the past few years. After Momo had gotten a job, she wasn't able to drop me to school anymore. The timings for Momo's work were decided from 3:15 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. Therefore, she was able to pick me up from school after she left the office.
As I looked around, I realized that even the city had developed so much. There were a higher number of tall buildings now. The inventions of various gadgets like microwaves, televisions, cell phones, etc. has made life so much easier. I wish I could get my own cell phone one day. That would be so cool!!
