       — 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐘𝐎 had never been the ideal man in society. He had never been half the man society wanted him to be, but his existence maintained a balance that, whether those around him were aware of it or not, the society they formed needed.

Looking down on all the people swarming the streets like ants in an insect made for someone's entertainment, Haruchiyo wondered if they were all aware of the danger lurking beneath the facade of a kind and compassionate man. Honesty was a rarity in the world they lived in, but people's naivety never ceased to amaze him. Yet he could not complain. It was the naivety of others that made his kind exist, just as it was his kind that made society go on its normal course. What would the world be like without criminals of all kinds? Haruchiyo couldn't create such an image in his mind. In his mind, everything made sense and his logic was unbeatable.

"Are you going to jump by yourself or do you need a hand to push you?"

Haruchiyo laughed.

"How did you come to the conclusion that I have any suicidal thoughts?"

The woman snorted.

"I figured if I'm not allowed to do it, maybe I can get rid of you in some other way."

The man smiled under his whiskers. In the two weeks that Y/n had lived under the roof of his house, Haruchiyo had never felt what it was like to be bored: the woman presented a fiery personality to him, the antithesis of the one she presented to others. But he knew best; Y/n was much more shy in reality, sleeping as far away from him as possible, keeping the duvet just for herself and dressing in clothes that, when he slept next to her, would leave nothing suggestive. At that time, however, Y/n was bold; she expressed what she was thinking in a harsh way and, in order for her words to be understood, made an effort to send them at him in the most aggressive way possible.

How could he be bored when his soon-to-be wife was so attractive?

"You haven't answered my question yet," she said, breaking the silence that had hung between them for a good few minutes.

"If I will jump?" he asked, aware that the woman wasn't expecting an answer to that question, but Haruchiyo preferred to avoid the subject, having no clear reason for his decisions of late. He would have liked to blame it on loneliness, but even that excuse was in question.

After another few minutes of silence and no sarcastic comment, he heard Y/n leave, closing the glass door behind her and leaving him alone again.
