"Sir, Miss Veebha is here to meet you." I heard my receptionist say over the call.
"Send her in."
And in no time and I heard the sound of heels and my door flung open revealing her.
"How could you Manik?" She asked coming towards me across my desk.
"The same way you could." I replied staying as calm as ever.
"You shouldn't have done this to me. To your years old friend. You know how much I adore you. How could you forget our friendship so easily?? Just by the arrival of a mere girl??"
"Don't you dare mention my fiancé. You should know that you are to respect her." I stood up from my chair hovering over her across the table to warn her in a good way. No way she was using that language for Nandini again.
"Manik how could you just snatch away everything from me??" She questioned.
"Just the way you tried to snatch everything from me." I reminded her of her deeds. She deserved it.
"You could do this. Not the rest of Fab Five." She said sounding smart.
"I can do anything with the contracts. You don't get to decide who has the authority and who doesn't. It's done now."
"Manik you can't just snatch my contracts from me. And why will other companies agree with you?" She couldn't be managing a business. Like never
"Because when Manik Malhotra backs off from something, everyone else does too."
"I asked for one last chance." She tried.
"This is your last chance. It is not one percent of what I could do to you if you try to harm anything else precious to me." She knew I wasn't lying. I was a good friend but I didn't deserve all that she did. I didn't deserve to have someone dearer to me treated like this. So many times.
"Manik don't do this to me. I will be ruined."
"You won't be. There's a lot you can do still. You've got cash and your wicked tactics." I mocked. She out of all the people turned out to be an actual snake.
"You are not scared that I have your secret with me ?" She tried to blackmail me. Well, only tried.
"And you are not scared that if once again you tried to do something that I don't like then what will happen to you?" I kept the calm posture. I was. Her presence intrigued my anger but I wasn't gonna sound panicked or something.
Where have you brought us Veebha?? We were friends for God sake.
"Manik please just let this all go."
"I wanted that too. You left me with no options. You give up, stay put and I won't do a thing."
"Fine." She stormed out. She was definitely the danger I wanted to keep Nandini away from. I picked up my phone and called Cabir to discuss what just happened.

I moved inside home to find Nandini sitting on the couch face timing with her friend far away from her.
"Hey, kids." I said only to get a groan from both of them.
"Sid don't forget me over there." Nandini stated out of nowhere and I realized that she'll cry if I say a thing.
"Are you mad Murthy. Once there is an end to this, we'll meet. And then you can come here too. You and bhai." Sid said that sounded more like a plan.
