Tony's POV

Growing up, I've always been told by my parents how life always will come in surprises. My dad died when I was young and my mom was struggling to make ends meet most of the time. She got remarried and had my little sister, Rebecca. Then I got into a little band called Pierce The Veil. You may have heard of it.

Now, my life is pretty successful and happy I would say. I love how everything panned out, how I made things work. My band mates are Vic, Jaime, and Mike. I don't think I would know where I would be in life without them. We had finished Warped Tour after we released our newer record, Selfish Machines.

I can't seem to catch a break. I just got a call from some adoption agency claiming that they have a 6 month old baby that is my daughter. The baby's mother was my ex-girlfriend from last year. I say was since I was informed that she died. Her name was Lucia Salgado and we dated since high school. She actually cheated on me, then got pregnant and said the baby wasn't mine. She was lying. The baby is mine.

I feel as though I am responsible now. I could've easily told them that no, the system could find her a nice loving home. No. Right now apparently the baby was in a foster home in the meanwhile I was on Warped. But now that they got a hold of me, I told them I would be picking up the baby. It been a week since Warped tour and they're telling me this now? Lucia didn't tell me anything? However, to confirm the baby is mine I asked for a test. Which they agreed to.

I got to the place, alone. I didn't want anyone with me to be excited in case the baby wasn't mine. I didn't tell anyone. Not even my mom. I walked into the building and went up to the secretary. The lady looked up at me with a smiled.

"Welcome to San Diego's Child Protective services and Adoption. How may I help you with sir?" I felt a bit odd. So far everyone is in a suit and tie, professional and shit. Me? I literally have a tank top, covered in tattoos and my hair is long as fuck. I didn't get the memo.

"My name is Tony Perry, and I recently got a call saying that my alleged daughter is here." I explained as I took out my ID and gave it to her. She smiled and typed my name into the computer. A few seconds later she turned back to me.

"Yes, please go to the third floor and we'll go from there with everything." I looked towards the elevator and thanked her as I did what she instructed.

"Oh shit..." I sighed to myself. "Let's get this over with."

Right away, I was taken in and seated into an office. There was another lady. I'm assuming a social worker. I awkwardly entered as she looked up at me and smiled.

"Mr. Perry. Please have a seat." I sat down and pressed my lips together. I was a but nervous. Considering I never been in these situations before. "Now, Lucia did claim the baby was yours before she gave birth. She was having a difficult time giving birth. She didn't have anyone with her, that's when she mentioned you. She gave us your number and your legal name."

"How did she pass? Exactly?" I asked.

"Right after delivering the baby, she immediately was going into cardiac arrest. She then went into a coma and pronounced deceased six months later. The doctors assumed she would get out of it and then have the baby in her care." Why does she keep calling the baby that?
