The last day I had with Carter. It was Sunday. My bags where packed, my stuff ready to go I had said goodbye to Ivy. But Carter wanted to spend the day with me. He said he had a plan and that he would pick me up at nine am. So I got ready fast exited but also a little bit sad because this would be the last time I would see him for a long time. I would make every second count.
I sat on the sofa next to Nana as she chatted about a shopping experience she had. I was anxiously waiting for the sound of his car. My leg was bouncing up and down when I suddenly heard his engine. And then his footsteps to the front door . I sprung out of my seat. And almost ran to the door. "Where are you of to" Nana cooed from the sofa.
"Oh I'm going out with Carter" i replied.
"Ooo yes I like that boy very tall though nice face" she poked her face around the corner wall and grinned at me cheekily. I laughed. And Carter knocked.
"Ok so where are we off to"
"Nope not telling your gonna have to wait" i sighed as he opened the door for me and gave me a dashing smile.
We drove into the next town I still had no idea where we where going. I turned to watch him drive and my breath caught in my chest. It had just hit me how lucky I was. He was beautiful. And wonderful and I was going to leave him here whilst I went of to France. He put his hand on my thigh and I smiled weekly. I put my hand on top of his and wrapped my fingers through his.
"Ok close your eyes where nearly here"
"Ok" I said suspiciously. The car stopped and I heard him get out of the car.
"Can I open them now"
"Not yet" he said opening my door. I reached out my hand. He took it and pulled me out of the car. He then spun me around quickly. "Oi" I said as I steadied myself. He laughed and pulled me into him. Then he turned me so I was facing away from him.
"Ok open your eyes"
I opened them. And gasped.
"Oh my god it's so beautiful" In front of me was a huge garden. Filled with flowers, trees and bushes as far as I could see. we where standing in the entrance a large wooden arch covered in vines. I grabbed his hand and pulled him forward. "I thought we could have a picnic" he said and i laughed "this is amazing thank you"
He took me past a fountain and through an arch way of trees. To a picnic bench. He opened the bag that I had only just noticed he was carrying. And put some tipper where pots onto the table. "I made us sandwiches, I'm not a chef don't judge them" he chuckled I smiled and sat down "so what's for breakfast chef" he grinned and opened one of the tubs. It was filled with little sandwiches. I laughed again "wow they look great"
He smiled proudly.
We ate and laughed and talked and even ran around , it was blissful. Buy the end we where both tired but Carter had one more thing for me.
We where sitting in my driveway and Carter had a little box in his hands. He gave me it with a smile . As I opened it i felt so happy and content France was nearly at the back of my mind. Inside the box was a necklace with a locket. I carefully opened it and there was a tiny little photo of us. One of the photos we took the day we went to the beach. I felt like crying this was wonderful. I reached across the car and hugged him . "Thank you so much" I whispered.
"I'm going to really miss you" he replied.
