We had been talking for 3 entire hours. We had a lot more in common than I thought. At least now I'll have someone to talk to on Mars. I decided to nap the rest of the trip.
I woke up when a passenger near me coughed. I looked at the digital clock positioned above the doorway leading into the supply room behind me. 11:34 AM; We were landing in about 10 minutes.
I looked over at the clock again. 11:43; We were beginning to land. I looked out of my window. I saw the dome in detail. It was air tight to keep the atmosphere in, and it looked as if it was made of glass. There were fresh sidewalks, roads, buildings, trees, flowers, and grass. Everything, especially the buildings, was very modern. I looked at the houses; they all seemed to be the same. Same setup, same rooms, and even the same dimensions. We were on landing pad number 3 by this time. There was tube that was air locked onto the dome that we were supposed to walk through. I didn't see how they got it on the rocket, but it happened. I'm also curious to how they built the dome. As we were exiting the rocket into the tube, Andrew admitted to me that he was nervous about living on Mars. I had gotten over being nervous by now. After all, we're already here and we can't turn back.
