Chapter 15: Torin

When I was finished with my patrol I made my way back to the house. The coffee was cold so I made a new pot, pouring my self a cup I grimaced. Once you've tasted of heaven everything else is swill in comparison. My coffee might have been nasty but I drank it anyway even if it was just something to keep me from running into Ash's room and curling myself around Miren. I could hear her and Roman's steady breathing and heartbeats. He must have fallen asleep too. It was amazing how much comfort she was already giving us even though we're weren't actually bonded yet. It had been a long time since Roman slept peacefully and I didn't have the heart to wake him.
I sat in the kitchen for another 20 minutes before the frustration finally got the better of me but just as I decided to check on them Roman walks into the kitchen, throwing himself into the chair opposite mine, head smacking against the table.
"I'm trash, garbage, the absolute crudest crud to ever crud" he moaned.
I raised my eyebrow, not sure how exactly I was supposed to respond to that.
"What did you do?" I finally asked.
"I fell asleep" he growned even louder this time "on the bed with her holding my hand".
I couldn't help the chuckle that slipped out "I don't think she minded to much considering the smell coming from Ash's room" I smiled at the blush creeping up his ears.
"She was just so soft and cute," he said, face still plastered against the table.
"I know, now you can understand why I was so angry when you and Rowan pulled me away from her when I found her" I tell him.
He growled, sitting up to run his hands over his face "I don't now how you didn't strangle both of us and hightail it back to her" he seems almost awed.
"Well I'd like to think that I have a bit more restraint then that but I won't lie and say the thought didn't cross my mind" I turned them to see Miren shuffle throw the door way.
"Hey" she waves, seeming to be embarrassed "sorry I fell asleep on you guys, it's just been a crazy week"
"It's fine, Beautiful, you were tired and you needed the sleep" I tell her, standing to give her a kiss on the forehead before heading out of the kitchen.
"I'm going to take a quick shower" I send to Roman "stay with her"and I hear Roman growl in approval through the bond. I needed to take a shower after my patrol and with how adorable our mate was, fresh from sleep, it was going to be a very, very cold one.
