Ross's POV
Lexi and Daniel just walked in. They haven't seen me yet. I told Rydel I was going to the bathroom, when actually I just hid behind the wall so they couldn't see me. I watched them together as they started walking closer.

Daniel had short black hair, and was almost as tall as me. He was awfully close to Lexi as they walked to the dance floor. When they started dancing I couldn't help but cringe. Lexi actually looked happy. Happier than I've seen her since she got here. Seeing her with him is making me lose hope in us.

After about 20 minutes of dancing, Lexi walked away for a minute... Towards Rydel.. Uh oh. This isn't going to end well.

Rydel's POV (What!?!)
Ross said he was going to the bathroom. He's been gone an awfully long time. Maybe he found Ryland and stayed with him. But then I looked to my right and found the reason he left.

Lexi was here with Daniel. I feel bad for Ross. I can tell he really likes her. But, I will admit, Daniel is really cute. However, I am a Rexi shipper all the way.

Lexi's POV
Daniel and I were having a blast. After one of the songs ended, he pointed to Rydel and Riker and said he thought he recognized them. As soon as I saw them, my heart started pounding. I completely ignored Ross all day. Whatever is going on between us, I don't want it to end. Even if Daniel is here. I've never thought about Daniel as more than a big brother.

I walked over to Rydel and we started to talk. We had to scream over the music so we could hear each other. Right between the songs, she whispered to me, "He's over there."

She pointed to a wall. I knew exactly what she was talking about. So, I made my way over and found Ross leaning against the wall, acting cool.

"Hey." I said to him.

"Hey." He said back, without even looking at me.

"I'm sorry I canceled last minute. I haven't seen Daniel since I left and--"

"I get it, Lexi. You don't have to explain it to me. Do whatever you want to do. I should've known better."

"What do you mean you should've known better?" I asked him, quite confused.

"I should've known I didn't have a chance with you. There's probably always a million other guys around you. And I forced you out the other day, and you got in trouble with your mom..."

"How did you know about that?" I asked.

"I was there when you kinda pushed me off the balcony." He smiled. "I could hear you guys. And it's my fault it happened."

"Well, Ross, I think you're forgetting something else that happened that day."

"And what would that be?" Ross asked.

This is it. I thought. I leaned in and kissed him. Around the crowd of people and blaring speakers, I kissed him. Sparks were flying everywhere and neither of us wanted to move. After about a minute, someone bumped into us, and pulled us apart.

"And I don't regret any second of it." I whispered to Ross.
