"..hell-llo..?" A hear a little voice say as I'm looking through the window next to my door. She knocks.

I crack open the door a bit not fully trusting the girl after what's been going on lately. "Do u need something." I said in a monotone voice as if acting like a dont care even though I'm shaking on the inside.

"Can.. I get some" she took a long pause.

"....tokens..? Please.." she said that last word in a small shriveled voice. I knew she wanted more time. We all did. This system was hell. And it hurt, to see a little girl with this, her parents were probably out of tokens as well. Those damn shiny gold tokens. They ruined everything.

"apologies." I said in a voice that didn't match my emotions or face at all, showing sympathy in my emotions even though she couldn't see me. These things hurt.

I wish it wasn't like this. Oh to go back to five years ago, of course, everything was still stupid and polluted. But it wasn't this bad..

After I closed the door I heard small foot steps of crunching leaves beneath her feet as I heard a few strangled sobs.

I looked out the window. And she was gone.
'as expected' I thought to myself.

The only time anyone ever left there house was to either get food, attempt to gain your social rank. Or beg for tokens.

Looks like she picked the worst reason to go outside.

..Even though she probably didn't have an inside to begin with..
