We are now beginning our descent into LAX...
I wish you could feel the butterflies in my stomach
It took a year to reach you
And she's out of town
But I'm not here to take you from her
Like you took my heart from me
I'm here for closure
Seeing you after I landed
A bouquet of tulips in your right hand
Gold watch, backwards cap, long t-shirt
Your hair is longer than I remembered
Hollywood has changed you slightly
But your smile reminded me of home
That hasn't changed
At least not for me
For I remember that same smile when I hugged you after a game
That same smile when you saw me in my prom dress
I missed your hugs and your unique scent mixed with laundry detergent
And it was hard to remember why
Why we parted in the first place
Let's get out of here, you said
Your voice was deeper
But it gave me such warmth
