Today was... weird. To say the least.
Vincent had skateboarded home after being hired, but felt strange the whole way back. He was out of it a little, mostly confused- he zoned out so bad that he almost missed a green light and got himself run over! Which costed him an angry middle aged man yelling slurs at him from inside a dusty white van, unfortunately. He was just... Deep in thought. Not even music could silence those thoughts like they usually did.
He eventually made it to his house. Or- well, "house" was a generous statement. Vincent didn't really live in an actual house or apartment of his own, but rather co-lived in a friend's house with a bunch of other people. All of which were a lot like him, in a sense. Maybe not purple like he was, but they all had their own crazy fashion statements of their own, one way or another. The first scene queens to exist, perhaps. The trendsetters.
Nothing in this place was socially acceptable to wear in any town or weather really- and it was general knowledge that everyone here did crack. Constant complaints came from neighbours about the noise and awful stench of the place- but somehow they always got away with it. Vincent was one of the more quiet of the group, surprisingly. He joined in on the fun, sure, but- he couldnt be as blissfully ignorant and crazy as the others. Not after what became of him, anyway.
He was also one of the oldest, which- luckily, meant that he didn't necessarily have to talk to any of them whenever he came home if he didn't really want to. He liked them, sure, but- after a while the party life grates on you, and wears you down. Especially after a long, hard day where you just want a good night's rest. Vincent slumped in through the door, briefly waving at whoever was home at the moment and quickly slinking off through the dark halls and down to the basement where he slept on an inflatable mattress. It wasn't really that uncomfortable- just a bit cold in the winters and this place reaked the heaviest of drugs. Luckily, though, it was Summer! So things were just uncomfortably sweaty. Yaaayyy...
He flopped over onto his "bed", too lazy to get changed. His mind was still racing from thoughts of today. He was just hired! He had a job again! And he'd make enough money so he wouldn't have to live here anymore. And... maybe... he could abandon Freddy's permanently. Find some really respectable job and show all the naysayers who was really the loser after it all, but...
That Scott was so kind to him. So were Mike and Jeremy, even if he didn't get many words in with them. He'd be working with them for a while, so of course, there was still time for them to show their true colours, and yet...
Vincent sighed, turning onto his side and smushing his face into his pillow sadly. His lip trembled a little, and eyes welled slightly. Why was it he could never trust anyone ever again?
Maybe he could, if he weren't so scared to.
He just wanted to have some fun. He didn't want to get too attached.
He sniffed, wiping his eyes and plotting what he'd do tomorrow to try and take his mind off of how nice they all were. Slowly, he drifted off without even realising, as his thoughts and plans melted in his mind and his thoughts were derailed by dreamy tired nonsense.
Tomorrow is another day.
