I'm running for my life, which seems crazy considering what I'm running from, a ZOMBIE!!! I used to think they were just something from a book or a movie but, now I'm running, well jogging, away from one.
My life used to be so simple, so normal, hanging with friends, worrying if I would get asked to the spring dance and studying for tests.
I woke up the day after the last day of school, I was going to go camping with my BFF, Lux, and her family. I go to get dressed and hear glass break, tires screech and a scream rip through the air. I freeze, I slowly move to my window, my first thought was, it was a car accident.
I look outside and I see a car upside down a pool of blood starting to form under it. I look up and see smoke off in the distance.
"what the-"
"Alice?" I hear my name, I turn around to see my mom.
"mom, what happened?"
"just get your stuff, your camping bag, just pack anything you can't live without. Meet me down stairs in 10 minuets" that was the last time I saw her.
my head was spinning I felt like I was going to throw up. I ran to my closet and started pulling out everything and deciding if it would be useful. I had no idea what i needed to pack so i lust grabbed a little of of everything.
After i packed all of the outer wear i thought would be useful i went to my underwear drawer and grabbed everything, socks and underwear and so on. I ran into my bathroom and grabbed the first-aid kit and toilet paper and tampons (hey, if you are a girl you need theses in a zombie apocalypses) and all the other toiletries i would need in any situation.
After I'm done packing I get dressed i think to my self can i really be this stupid, i haven't gotten dressed!
I run to my dresser and see what i have left , I grab out a pair of shorts and a black t-shirt, I grab my hiking boots and throw up my hair in a pony tail. I'm about to grab my bag when I hear a scream, in side the house. It is my little sister Ashley.
I run into her room on the first floor, when i enter i see a pool of blood mixed with broken glass her window was broken. I could see bits of flesh hanging of the broken pieces. My heart is racing afraid of what i am going to see, when i look over the bed i see Mr. Jonson, Lux's dad with a soccer trophy sticking out of his head. I hold in a scream, I feel as if I'm going to faint, then i hear a whimper coming from the closet.
"Ashley? Is that you?" I ask
"Alice? Help me" i walk towards the closet, i put my hand on the knob, I'm afraid of what im going to see. I open the door and i see Ashley sitting on the floor holding her ankle
"What happened?"
" i woke up and looked out side and i saw- " she paused "well i don't know what i saw, i saw what looked like a woman eating a little girl, i screamed and that was when Mr. Jonson heard me. He walked over to the window at first i thought he was normal and then i saw blood all over him. He came to the window and broke it, he climbed in and bit my ankle a when i was trying to get away. I hit im over the head with my trophy until he stopped moving and i went to the closet...Alice... I cant breath!" she was gasping for air, i felt her forehead she was burning up.
"Ashley!" i loudly whisper. Then suddenly she went limp in my arms
I knew what was going on but it seemed to far fetched. Zombies.
I needed to find my parents, they would know what to do. I was sill holding the lifeless body of my little eight year old sister. This wasn't fair, she had her hold life in front of her and I was just taken from her, ripped away. She would never grow old or get married or have kids. THIS WASN'T FAIR!!! Suddenly consumed with rage I got up, carefully placing her on her bed. I walked over to hat once was my neighbor and best friends father, he wasn't him anymore. I ripped the soccer trophy out from his skull and proceeded to slam the hunk of metal into his brains, he took my sister away from me! He took the only person I cared most about in this world. It was my job to protect her and I failed.
