A swarm of students pressed up against the lockers, laughing, talking and even yelling. Poor little Terry Tousinbarg was leaning into her locker and found a note just sitting there at the bottom of her locker "what's this?" She thought as she unfolded the crumpled piece of paper. "Start growing leafs short stack" she read to herself. She often received notes from her peers that usually just said that she was stupid, but this one, this one was different from the rest. For example other boys in school, and some girls, often had messy printing and spelt everything wrong. Like Tommy Saj, he was a very bright guy, but he was to busy trying to be popular, that he spelt almost everything wrong. It's shocking to see people out there talents to waste, oh well, what can I do about that. If your wondering who 'I' is, that's me Emma. Anyways, Terry wasn't the most popular kid at school, she didn't go to all the party's and have a reputation to protect, and she also didn't have the latest juelery and clothes. So what if she didn't sit at the tables in the cafeteria, the floor was just as good. So what if she didn't smell like flowers going into bloom, she licked her original scent, the one she was blessed with. The funky chicken smell, almost like chickens but more like peanut butter. She liked to embrace her inner self, even if that meant getting bullied every day about her looks and what she liked to do with her time, it was horse back riding. No one really new why but she just always loved horses. She only had one horse, Santanna. She was full on amazement in her eyes. With her tall, hairy neck and round, joyful eyes. Although she had a few rough spots about her, she would always be perfect in Terry's eyes.
Terry saw her everyday after school and loved every minute of it.
She always loved to go on trail rides and look at the growing plants. One day when she was doing her usual routine, a lady called out "help! Oh, please! Someone help!" At the sound of this, Terry took off into a gallop following the sound of a lady weeping.
When a old grey haired lady lifted her head, her crooked jaw let out a a crooked smile. "Come, come," the old lady's voice was frail and shaky. Cautiously, Terry dis mounted Santanna and took a step forward.
"I need you to kiss this," the grey haired lady handed her a small twig with moss scattered across it.
"Do I have to?" She said strongly.
The old lady winked while Terry took the small twig. She carefully puckered her lips and kissed it. A sharp pain spread through her body as a bright light shot out of her mouth. The old lady cackled and said "ha! I tricked you! Ever hear of the Miss. Trustworthy witch before? Well I'm her!" The witch continued to cackle as a leaf sprouted from her finger. "Ahh! What did you do to me!" She yelled flailing her arms in the air like a maniac. "Your bones are turning to wood, don't you see darling, I turned you into a tree!" Leaf after leaf each one green and rich lay on her fingers. A patch of wood shielded her arm as she slowly transformed into a small little tree the size of a pencil. Everything grew large, Miss. Trustworthy grew ten feet tall and said "this is how it's going to work, dreary. You will be a tree for five hundred years and when a special day arrives you will awake and have two months to try and turn yourself back to human, if you don't succeed, you will be a tree for the rest of your miserable little life" the world started to grow dark before she could manage to scream, and nothing but silence filled the air.
