We sit in the waiting room of the hospital, waiting for the doctors to tell Ace that he's fine, i hope. Peter sits next to me, still processing what happened. "Why did you hit him?" I feel even more guilty than i did before. "It was an accident, i thought it was somebody else and, and that you were Ace, we had a fight and he was gone and i thought someone was gonna rob us and i- i just". I sigh as Peter tries to puzzle the words together. "So you didn't mean to hit him?" I shake my head, "i just hope he's okay, the reason why i didn't expect him, was because i thought he would be drunk and the person standing at my bedside was walking completely fine by my hearing. It all just happened so fast". I pull my knees up to my chest. Peter just looks really confused, trying to process what i said. I breath out resting my head on my knees.

"Excuse me". A doctor says, our heads snap towards her. "You can see him now, he's awake, but he has a really bad headache, so take it easy". We follow her towards the room and she shuts the door behind us. Ace laying in the bed with a frown, hand on the back of his head. "What happened?" He asks and Peter glares at me. "Uhm, i- i-m really sorry, i hit you with a basball bat". Ace's frown growing deeper in confusion, as i look at the ground. "You what-" "I didn't mean to". I say softly, "we'll talk when we get home". He says, standin up out of the bed. "Can i leave?" "I don't know man, i'll ask". Peter says, opening the door and leaving the room. It's just the two of us now. I trie to avoid looking at him, i just can't. He places a hand on the back of my back and i grow nervous. "How much do you remember". He removes his hand and i look up at him again. I'm not the only one looking guilty. "You can leave". Peter says, walking back in. "No costs?" "I paid for you, we'll take care of that later, come on, man, i wanna go home".

We head back home, quietly sitting in a cab. Peter's dropped off and now we're going back to my house.

I pay the driver and support Ace as we walk in the house. If i think back, i'm lucky i saw Peter, if i didn't i would've hit him even harder and he might've suffered severe brain damage. Ace sighs, as he puts his hand to his head. "I'm sorry, i didn't know it was you". He comes to a halt as we stand on the stairs. "No, i understand that you hit me was an accident, but what i did was wrong, i'm really sorry". His eyes beg for forgiveness. "I love you". I smile at him, as he returns it, giving me a hug. "Now come on, you need some sleep".
