I had arrived at a modern blue house. It had a backyard and a pool. I saw Chris's car and knew it was the right house. I ran up to the porch and knocked on the door. The door opened, but it wasn't Chris. It was another young looking boy. He had Carmel hair and sea green eyes.
"Yes. What do you want." He looked angry. I immediately knew why.
"I need to see Chris, please."
"So you're Layla. He doesn't wanna see you. Sorry."
He started to close the door, but I stopped him before he closed it all the way.
"Please, I need to talk to him."
He sighed and let me in.
"Bedroom in the back."
I ran into the back and into the bedroom. I could hear him crying.
"Chris, can I please talk to you."
He looked at me with tears in your eyes.
"Sure, you can sit over there."
I sat down on the bed and looked around.
"I'm sorry for hurting you. I did not realize you were trying to tell me you like me. I freaked out and did the first thing on my mind."
He looked at me and got up. He walked across the room and sat down on the bed with me.
"It's ok. I should have just told you I liked you." I felt the rush of heat again. I leaned towards him and laid my head on his shoulder. He chuckled and kissed my forehead. At that moment, I felt happy. I felt free. It's not like I was with Keenan. We heard the door open and someone yelling. I got up and ran into the living room. Leon was yelling at the Carmel haired boy.
"Leon, stop. Leave him alone." He stopped and looked at me.
"Layla, you're ok. Sorry, I got really worried and Michelle told me you were going to Chris's house. She gave me the address, and I drove here to make sure you were ok." I giggled, and Chris chuckled.
"What is so funny?"
We all looked at him.
"Leon, me, and Chris only had an argument."
He looked at me, and I knew he felt so stupid.
"Come on, let's go home."
I hugged Chris and kissed him on the cheek. See you tomorrow, ok."
He nodded. I shook the Carmel boys hand.
"Oh, sorry, Layla, this is Luke, my brother."
I looked at Chris and back at Luke. I could see the brother thing between them.
"Nice to meet you Luke".
I grabbed Leon's hand and pulled him out the door. Before I closed the door, I looked at Chris and smiled.
