Aaron was scheduled to leave for spring training tomorrow, which meant I would be alone in this duplex for six weeks. I would be lying if I said I wasn't going to miss him. I was starting to get used to having him around.
I walked into the duplex after work to find Aaron sitting at his island eating a bowl from Chipotle. It wasn't something I would usually find him eating.
"Hey," I say, closing the door behind me.
"El, hey. How was your day?" Aaron asked me, looking over.
"It was work, the usual." I shrug, "How about you? All packed up?"
"Eh, yeah." He sighs. "Luckily I have some clothes still out at my place out there." He tells me. So he's got two houses? Fancy.

"Aaron! Anthony's here, let's go!" I call down to him, noticing he was nearly a half hour late and was probably going to miss his flight.
"I'm coming! Fuck." He cursed, walking down the hall with his suitcase. "I couldn't find my fucking batting gloves, he can chill." He said before looking over at me. "You gonna miss me when I'm gone?" He asked me, I just shook my head.
"The place to myself for six weeks? That's a bonus." I say, laughing. "You get to go get some sun, I'm stuck here in New York in the cold."
"You could always come with.." Aaron suggested.
"I don't have a job out there, Aaron. Otherwise I would. I would love some warm weather right now." I tell him, sitting down on a bar stool, watching him as he threw a hoodie over his head.
I walk to the door with him and smile, "Have fun." I say before turning around.
Aaron nodded and opened the door. "I'll text you when I get there."
"Sounds like a plan, Stan." I say, smiling at him. "I'll make sure the place stays clean. Well, cleaner than it is when you're here." I joke to him.
He just shook his head. "See ya in six weeks, Davis."

"You totally got the hots for your roomie, Judge!" Giancarlo exclaimed, squeezing my shoulders as we board the plane.
"She doesn't want me in that way." I tell him, rolling my eyes.
"That's what you think. She's just playing hard to get, we all know that." He says, putting his things in the overhead compartment. "We see how you are with her, we saw it the other night, how you were all googly eyed for her." He said, sitting across from me. "You're gonna fall for her, I know it."
"Does Judge have a crush?!" Anthony asked me, peeking his head over from his seat. "You feeling okay?"
"Oh my god," I groan. "No, I just think she's a good looking girl."
Anthony nodded. "That's what they all say..."
I wasn't falling, that's silly talk. I don't get crushes on girls. I don't do relationships. It was like getting the ick.
When we get to Florida, I couldn't wait to get to my place. I grabbed some dinner and retreated to my room, noticing it was a little messy from when I was last here. I turned on the television, going to watch some Law & Order to pass the time.
My phone goes off and I see I'm getting a FaceTime call. From Ellie. I look confused, but answer it anyways.
"Missing me already, Davis?" I ask, chuckling as I lower the volume on my TV.
She shakes her head. "All of my friends are out tonight but I work early, so I can't be clubbing tonight." She replies, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Damn, even from a couple hundred miles away, she had me hooked.
Stop it, Aaron.
"Yeah, alright." I say, smirking at her. I moved and transferred the call to my laptop so I could be a little more comfy.
"Whatever." She says, "Flight okay? Got there alright?"
"You're concerned about me? Aw, thinking about me?" I ask, the smirk not leaving my lips.
"Of course I'm going to be a little concerned. We live together, I can't have you crashing and dying." She says, huffing as she lays on her stomach too. It's hard to keep my eyes looking up as some cleavage is exposed out of her tank top. Eyes up, Aaron. Eyes up.
"Yeah, my flight was fine. Heckled by the guys because they think I have the hots for you or something." I tell her. "Got to my place and didn't even realize how much of a fucking disaster it was."
She nodded. "At least you got there safe. You have practice tomorrow? Or what's on the agenda?"
"Yeah, pictures and practice. The usual spring training stuff. Not really looking forward to it." I tell her. "Can't even sleep in."
"Aw, boo hoo. Gotta do big boy things." She says, obviously faking the empathy for me.
"At least I don't have to get up at the ass crack of dawn." I tell her.
"Five in the morning is not the ass crack of dawn." She replies, rolling her eyes. "Speaking of, I gotta get ready for bed. I'll text you in the morning. Goodnight, Aaron." She tells me before hanging up for the night.
This girl was gonna ruin me.
