The boy with glasses

Lately, I can't help but notice the boy with glasses who moved to our town over the summer. Since then, I've been catching glimpses of him here and there - sometimes in class, and other times just around the town. He seems to be everywhere I go or is it just me who's acting all sensitive to his presence? Ahh, I really don't know.

One thing I noticed from observation is that he's usually by himself. He doesn't often socialize or participate in anything he must have implied as 'unnecessary'. That's just how he puts out to be in most situations I've seen.

He just seems so quiet and reserved. Maybe it's because he's shy? Or maybe he's just not interested. Either way, I can't help but think about him all day...

Is it his curly dark-brown hair and those beautiful black eyes that I can't help but notice? Or perhaps his cool sweaters that I'm jealous of? His rainy scent that fills my nose whenever he's close?

'Did I just mention scent?- ...I must be losing my mind! GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER, Y/N. Focus on studying first, you don't have time to fool around like this!'

On a sunny but also a little cloudy afternoon I decide to head to the library to read a book. It became a habit of mine to read at that same old spot on the window seat that has mesmerizing view of the campus. However, since today was too hot to sit by the window I make my way to the main hall.

(P.s it IS hot as hell and also blindingly bright by the window seat, make sure to know that y'all)

I make my way into the main hall and go further to the end where there's less students studying and I find a seat there, opening my book to start reading from where I last bookmarked.

Few minutes in I'm engrossed in my book as I start to read faster, finishing off pages real fast. But after a while I suddenly catch a familiar scent in my nose.

I'm surprised as I look up from my book to see the culprit of the smell seated right against me, also reading something. I feel my heart skip a beat at the figure, however quickly reminding myself to keep my composure in this situation.

It's him.

I pretend not to mind it since the library surely IS reserved for everyone on the campus. He has a right to be here. So, I take a minute to calm down and clear my mind. As I'm mentally 'okay' I continue on with my book once again.

Few minutes pass as I sense a burning gaze on me. 'Don't mind it, Y/N' I instruct myself. After a long internal debate, I decide to look at him since he was freely doing so himself. I raise my head up to meet his eyes.

'God, his eyes are stuck on me.'

My heart races at the thought of him looking at me with such gaze and I feel butterflies dancing around in my stomach. I quickly shift my head down out of embarrassment but shoves my nose into the book hard as a result.

I hear a light chuckle coming from the other side of the table.

"Hey, it's not funny." I massage my nose bridge.

"It was, to me." He responds with a smile, now staring at me with content eyes. "If I were to know you would be this funny, I should've gotten to know you more sooner." he says while putting his hand on the table and leaning his head on it.
