"Hey Lex, can I talk to you?" Danny asks, sitting down on the couch next to her, where she is focused on her computer.
"Yea, what's up?" She closes her computer.
"Here..." He hands her an envelope. "I want to say thank you for everything you have done for me and I have loved this job—"
"Save the speech, Danny. I knew this was coming," she scans over the letter of resignation. "You're moving on, I never expected you to work here forever, honestly I would have had to fire you if you stayed much longer. What firm are you gonna be working with?"
"Riley and Olsen"
"Oh, no shit. I know Olsen relatively well."
"How did you two cross paths?"
"I went to some event but I also actually worked on a job for them. I reconstructed their cyber security system."
"Oh, nice..."
"What else is on your mind Danny?"
"How ya doing? It's been a few weeks since you and Finn broke up, how are you? You gonna start dating again?"
"I'm fine, and no. I'm not. I am done with dating apps I deleted them when Finn and I started getting serious and I now have no intention of re-downloading them." she tells him. "I know you said you want to stay for a few more weeks but what do you think about going up to the Hamptons? Invite Chance. I'll bring Reya and Avi. We can all head up in a couple of days for Halloween? There's a heat wave coming through so it'll feel like Summer," she says as she brings her computer back over so he can see the weather forecast she had been looking at.
"That sounds amazing, but we aren't done talking about this."
"We are for now especially if you want an all-expense paid trip to the Hamptons."
"Oh, you don't have to pay for us."
"Yes, I do. I'm asking you to blow off work to come with me."
"Yea. Work, where you're my boss."
"I am paying, end of discussion."

"I don't care. You put my entire staff at risk!"
"Sweetheart please, you're overreacting," the man on the other side of the screen tells her, in the same condescending tone he's had since they started this call.
"I am not overreacting. I paid for the job to be done correctly. I looked at the blueprints and masterplan, I know the building codes like the back of my hand. I paid for different materials and you gave me forged receipts and documents. Tell me, what do you think my reaction was when I got a call from my staff saying that there was a partial collapse in the framing? It's a fucking rooftop bar, a hundred feet above the ground. I did not pay for corners to be cut, especially in such a dangerous place. You're lucky that it happened outside of operating hours. And it is Miss Petrova."
"We understand your frustrations but you are getting irrational— "
In the past hour, the men on the other side of this video call have called her every cliche in the book. Irrational, emotional, crazy, naive, if you can think of it, they probably said it in an attempt to make her feel small and intimidated.
She started calm and collected but at this point, if they're going to call her everything short of a bitch then she is throwing courtesy out the fucking window. She always says she's okay with having the reputation of a hardass as long as her staff like and respect her. She achieved that.
