There was a pounding at the door.

Griffin, who was home alone at the moment, jumped from his couch, spilling popcorn all over.

Oh God, who was it? His family wasn't expecting anyone to come over. And why were they knocking so hard?

Getting up from his comfortable location, he looks through the window blinds, but doesn't see anyone. However, there was more knocking.

Looking through the peep hole the door had, he saw a kid wearing a red and white jacket, even though it was pretty warm outside.

Who was this kid? And why was he here?

Wait a minute.

Ohh.

It's the paperboy.

"Um, yes?" Griffin asked, pressing himself against the door to make himself easier to hear.

"Hey! Um, I just wanted to ask something." He could see him looking around, tapping his foot.

"What is it?"

"Have you seen my dog?"

His dog? Well, he didn't really see anything because he was inside. How'd he lose his dog?

And as if the question was heard, the paperboy answers. "She ran out without a leash, haven't seen her since a few hours ago."

Griffin sighed, "I haven't seen her. I've been inside this entire day. Sorry."

"Oh, it's fine."

There was a silence.

Right as Griffin started walking away, there was even more knocking.

Confused, he asked again, "Yes?"

"I'm very sorry to bother you, but do you think you can help me find her? I've kind of been looking by myself, and I could use some help."

"Well, what about your parents? Aren't they helping you look for your dog?"

Looking through the peephole, Griffin could see the paperboy open his mouth to say something, but then close it.

"They're busy." Is all he responded with.

Hah, Griffin's parents were busy too. Maybe they won't mind that he slipped out of the house to help the paperboy find his missing dog. Besides, it's not like they'll know.

"Then I guess I can help," he said. "Just let me put on some shoes."

And maybe give him time to change out of his PJ'S.

He'll have to hurry on that.

"O-ok! Thank you!... Wait! What about your parents?!"

A yell came from inside the house, "I'M SURE THEY WON'T MIND!"

Off Griffin was, running up the stairs whilst skipping steps and nearly falling backwards.

He grabs a plain grey shirt and some jean shorts, hastily putting it on while throwing his pajama carelessly. Snatching his dull red and white shoes, he puts them on once he reaches the front door.

Looking through the peephole, he sees the paperboy and swings the door open. All while looking as though he hasn't slept well in the past two-three weeks.

Sitting on the front steps of the house, Paperboy, who wasn't expecting the door to burst open, is startled when turns his head and sees Griffin standing behind him.

"Um, Hi." Griffin says kind of awkwardly.

"Hey... You were super quick." He replied, eyebrows raised.
