Sanemi Pov

Today's the day. I will propose to Kanae. I asked Kanae out on a date a few days ago and the day came quickly. Because now I'm getting ready for that date. "Kanae is here!" Genya yelled from the front door. "I'll be right there!" I yell back, searching for the ring. "I know I put it over here." I think, looking around my desk. Papers are everywhere. But finally I find the little box with the ring. "Thank the heavens." I mumble, fixing my tie and going outside to Kanae.

"Hello, Darling!" Kanae spoke, grabbing Sanemi's hand. "Hello, Dear." I mumbled. Kanae is the only women that can make me feel like this. She really does give me butterflies. We go to the park for our first spot. Surprisingly no one seemed to murmur or come up to me. It was just a nice afternoon in the park with my girlfriend. "Honey, look, there's a takoyaki food stall!" Kanae said, pointing. "Would you like some?" I asked, smiling slightly. "Yes please!" She chirped. I grabbed her hand and took her over to the stand.

"One takoyaki serving please." I asked the teenager at the stand. He nodded and gave me the serving. I nodded a thanks and handed him 862.53 yen. He seemed to jitter with excitement as I gave him the money. He must be a fan. I smile at the thought of this and walk away with my takoyaki. "Thank you, Sanemi!" Kanae says, chewing on one of the pieces of takoyaki.

Third person pov

It was the first day of third grade. Sanemi was lonely. All his friends got different classes or had moved over the summer. He would only see his friends at lunch and recess. Class was starting soon as the last few people walked in. Sanemi noticed a pretty girl walking in. She had two pink and green butterfly hair pins and long black hair. She was also a few inches taller them him. There were no open sits next to her friends so she had to sit next to the anger issues kid with scars. That kid was Sanemi. He stared at her as the teacher went on and on about the rules for in the classroom. Finally the teacher said the kids could talk to the students next to them.

"Hi, I'm Kanae!" She says, smiling to Sanemi. "Nice to meet you, I'm Sanemi..." He stutters. Sanemi has always been a shy meeting new people. "You seem lonely. Let's be friends!" Kanae says, grabbing Sanemi's hands in her own. Sanemi's eyes sparkle as he gazes into Kanae's eyes. "Okay!" Sanemi speaks, happily smiling back. And like that they were already friends.

Middle school was very stressful for all the students. But atleast they had the eighth grade dance to look forward to. Every boy scrambled to get a date. "Obanai, did you get a date to the dance yet?" Sanemi asked, leaning on his locker. "Yeah, I asked Kanroji. She hasn't said yes yet though." Obanai answered, sighing. "That sucks. I'm planning on asking Kanae today." Sanemi says, red creeping onto his face. "Good luck." Obanai says. "Mhm." Sanemi hums, patting Obanai's shoulder and leaving. He walks to his first class, some people stare at him as he walks through the hallway. They always do because he always leaves the top half of his uniform unbuttoned. He reaches his first class and he is already waiting for the end of the day.

Finally his last class ends and he rushes off to Kanae's last class. He sees Kanae coming out of the class and he stops infront of her. "Kanae! *huff* I was looking *huff* for you." He says, sweat rolling down his forehead. "Oh, hello Sanemi-San!" Kanae says, smiling at Sanemi. "I wanted to ask you something." Sanemi says, grabbing Kanae's hands. "Hm? What is it?" Kanae asks. "Will you... come to the dance with me?" Sanemi says, getting closer to Kanae's face. They went silent for moments. Kanae thought about what to say. "I'm sorry, Sanemi... I'm already going with someone else." Kanae mumbles, letting go of Sanemi's hands. "What..? Someone else asked you?" Sanemi says, shocked. "Yes, Gyomei-San asked me." Kanae says, starting to walk away. "But he's in highschool?!" Sanemi yells, following after her. "Well, yes, but he knew and made me feel special when he asked me." Kanae says, blushing and tucking hair behind her ear. "B-but you're suppose to be my date.." Sanemi stutters, stopping in his tracks. "I'm sorry, Sanemi." Kanae says, walking away. "DAMNIT!" Sanemi screams, punching a locker. "SHE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE MINE!" He yells, repeatedly punching that locker. The teachers had to drag him to counseling as he screams and cusses at them.

Sanemi could finally graduate high school. Most people are surprised he's made it this far. Graduation is coming up soon and to leave high school on the last day is they walk out of the entrance with their partner. Sanemi doesn't have a partner. "'Nemi!" Genya shouts from the living room. "What?" Sanemi asks, coming out of his room. "Shinobu says that her sister doesn't have anyone to walk out of high school with yet!" Genya says, surprised. "Really?!" Sanemi asks, walking over quickly. "Yeah go ask her!" Genya says, pushing Sanemi out the door. "I am, I am!" Sanemi yells, running down the street. He reaches the Kocho household and knocks on the door. The girl Sanemi knows as Aoi opens the door. "Ino-! Oh, it's you." She says, disappointed. "You're here for Kanae?" She sighs. Sanemi nods quickly. "Alright, I'll go get her." Aoi says, going back inside. Kanae comes out moments later.

"Hello, Sanemi-San!" Kanae says, shutting the front door. Sanemi gets down on his knees. "Please, please Kanae, walk out of the high school with me! I don't want to be the single one!" Sanemi begs, tugging on her skirt. "Sanemi, you don't have to beg. Of course I will!" Kanae says, pulling him to his feet. Sanemi's eyes light up to her agreement. Sanemi pulls Kanae into a kiss. Kanae doesn't reject this kiss. She melts into it, savoring the taste of Sanemi's lips.

Present Day

Their date is coming to a close as Sanemi walks Kanae back to her front steps. "That was a good date, Sanemi!" Kanae says, letting go of Sanemi's hand. "Wait.." Sanemi mutters, getting down on one knee. "Kanae... I've been contemplating about this for awhile but I need your love in my life. I want to keep that love forever. Please let me keep that love in my life and marry me!" Sanemi pleads, holding out the ring. "Sanemi... I will marry you! You're the love of my life with your scarred face to your anger issues." Kanae says, bringing Sanemi into a kiss. "Alright, that's enough, love birds!" Shinobu shouts from the second floor window. "Sorry, Shinobu!" Kanae giggles. "Bye, my love." Kanae whispers in Sanemi's ear, kissing his cheek. "Goodbye, have a good night..." Sanemi mumbles, watching Kanae walk away. He smiles, leaving for his car. Finally, one of the proposals are complete.
