Prologue

A quiet morning. The sun just peaking out it's head over the edge. A few birds starting their day and a man with hair like the sun but with the length of a river starts his own. Dark hall with an open door as his own door shuts. A flip of a light switch and a swing of a cabinet door. Kitchen utensils clang as they're moved, and a flame flickers to a start.

A girl with the rebalance of the moon lays inside the room with the opened door. She opens her eyes to reveal bright, sleepy rubies. While two men stay behind closed doors and under covers. Her eyes stay on the music box on her nightstand as it was left opened. A click and a click and a click can be heard as the key winds itself up.

A hum from the end of the hall and a scrape from the pan. Smoke going up into the air and a sizzle sound coming from the pan. The man with hair like the sun prepares some coffee, tea and a mountain of scrambled eggs in the for the most part minimalist black and white kitchen. There were hints of gold accents and metals, fun patterns found in the plates and the tiles. An old vintage style with a modern twist.

The key starts rapidly unwinding, a melody similar to a lullaby following shortly afterward. Its rhythmic, precise notes sounding both gentle and sharp mix in with the light laughter the moon girl tried to quiet.

The humming stops for a second processing the new noise but promptly came back when the sun colored blonde went back to his task. Figuring a music box playing was of no concern.

A whisper, light and airy, coming from the opened door. The girl with hair like the moon had started whispering in the direction of the box. The music box that was still playing its gentle yet sharp lullaby as if trying to lure her back to sleep. She looked with curiosity balanced by hesitation towards the boy with the music box. The boy that seemed to have come with the wind or was a mere reflection of light. But the wind was never there, the window was closed. The girl overpowered by curiosity started asking questions in the lowest tone she could muster. "Why are you here? Why do you look transparent?"

The humming had stopped yet again to listen to the new-found noise. The sunshine man, curious of the murmurs, turned off the stove. He leaned towards the hallway, trying to comprehend the noises.

The music had stopped, provoking the whispers of the little moon girl, "Do it again!". And as the clicks from the key started again, so did the questions from the curious girl. With the clicks came a squeak from the window and a whisper of a greeting from the wind.

At this, the man with hair like a sun ray started getting concerned for the little girl. Wondering who she was talking to that would require the window to open. Before the murmurs could be explained as innocent playing, she had always talked with her dolls. But her dolls wouldn't need a window opened.
"Eri, who are you talking to?" Called the man from the hall. He soon appeared by the door, a look of worry and confusion on his face.

The girl answered with a smile...

"My new friend."

At this the man put on a smile but was obviously even more concerned. "Oh, and who is this friend? Can I meet them?" Said the man, provoking a reply from the moon girl...

"Huh, papa, he's right there! Don't be mean"

"Who's... right there, sweetie?" The man questioned as he moved to close the window.

"My friend! He's right next to the...    Music box?" She said, starting with enthusiasm but ending with disappointment when she realized that the boy wasn't there.
"He was just there a second ago..." her voice was laced with confusion and disappointment.

"It's okay honey, I'm sure he'll come back since he's your friend, right? Come on, let's go get breakfast, yeah?" Said the sun with a comforting smile, though he was clearly still worried about whom this friend was.

"Ok..." said the girl but confusion and disappointment refused to leave her.

The "friend" however stayed put in his spot. He had hidden in the corner the second the man walked in out if instinct even if usually people didn't see him. His entire body merged with the shadows in the corner of the room the only things standing out being his snow white hair and blue eyes. How he ended up here he didn't really  know but he'd been roaming around long enough to know most people couldn't see him. Why the few could he wasn't sure.

Up until a couple days ago he had thought it was the end, thought that black abis would be his forever home until he woke up here. He had explored a little but ultimately  he came back here. There was something about this place that called out to him and well...

Killua didn't see the harm in finding out what.
