"I have a favour to ask." I said walking over to Noah, my ex. Also the ex-quarterback of Lake Wood High before Bryce replaced him.
He looked at me before releasing a snort. "No."
"What! Why not!" I asked running after him. "You haven't even heard what I was going to say yet!"
"I don't need to." He said as he turned around to face me.
"Pretty please?" I asked giving him my best puppy face, which would always use to work with him. "Just at least hear what I want to tell you?"
He took a deep breath. "Fine."
"You know Adam right?" I ask. "My new boyfriend." I say adding more detail.
"Yes, I know him." He says rolling his eyes. "Don't rub it in."
"Well... can you check out his football skills?" I asked. "Adam has skills, trust me, I just need to hear it from a real football player like you. If you agree that he does has skill, do you mind being his temporary coach?"
He stared at me like I was joking or something. "Why would I want to do that?" He asked.
"Because you're a great ex boyfriend who still helps me out, and Adam seems really good, maybe even better than Bryce." I say with a shrug. "So if you teach Adam some tricks he'll get even better. Maybe you're football coach can even replace Bryce with Adam so Bryce can finally feel how you felt like when he replaced you."
"You hate Bryce that much?" Noah asks.
"No, I don't hate Bryce that much. You hate Bryce that much. I'm just doing Adam a favor because he really wants to be in the football team, he's just scared to ask you for help." I say. "Adam beating Bryce is just what's in it for you. You know... revenge."
Noah nods slowly thinking whether to say yes or no. He shrugs. "Fine."
"Thank you!" I say as I give him a hug.
"Tell him to meet me in the football field during lunch." Noah calls as I run to find Adam to tell him the good news.
-----------
"Why would you do that!" Adam exclaims once I tell him the news that I thought would be good to him.
"I thought you wanted to be part of the football team?" I ask with my eyebrows furrowed surprised by his sudden outburst.
"No! That's what you want Katie." He says as he throws his Math book into his bag angrily.
I sigh.
"Oh I get it... you're scared." I say. He gives me a weird look. "Because before you became all this, you use to be the guy who'd make fun of the jocks, but secretly you always wanted to be one. And now when I'm giving you the opportunity to, you're scared."
He rolls his eyes. "I'm not scared. Sports just aren't my thing."
"Right." I say sarcastically. "Sports aren't your thing, you kidding me? You're scared Adam Flores."
"I'm not!" He says with a chuckle. "And I know what you're doing Katie. You're telling me I'm a wimp so I can prove you wrong by joining the football team, making me give you what you want."
"Fine. You got me." I sigh. "You really are good, well from what I've seen. I'd be so upset if a talent like that would go to waste."
Adam smirks. "Kissing my ass works too." He says with a shrug. "Fine."
I laugh as we walk towards our first period together.
The day goes by pretty fast and the next thing I know it's already lunch. I lead Adam towards the football field where Noah already is waiting as he jump ropes for his warm up.
