Who knew Ji Woo would be a sucker for Japanese mochi? If I had known this from the start, I could have saved so much time and effort.

Anyway, bringing the mochi allowed me to strike a deal with Ji Woo which was for me to bring over his assignments as well as some snacks. That was all in exchange for letting me hang out in his room to play games on his desktop.

Mochi is way too expensive for my high school allowance. And I couldn't swipe anymore from Uncle after doing it that one time. The punishment was so not worth it.

Uncle made me re-create the limited edition mochi from scratch to replace the one I had stolen, which took up my time after school. So basically for that one week, I couldn't play games at Ji Woo's place, like I had intended.

Why did it take me a week? Because I suck big time and making the perfeft mochi is difficult.

I needed to ensure that Ji Woo kept up with his end of the bargain. And since I had disappeared for a week, I had to remind him once again about the deal we made. So I made a little extra of the mochi and placed it into the Ichigoo Mochi box before giving it to Ji Woo.

He accepted the mochi and didn't seem to realise it wasn't from Ichigoo Mochi. Either that or he realised and just didn't care. Maybe he just liked food, no matter what.

I played games on his desktop while he did his assignments. At first, Ji Woo kept his distance and didn't really attempt to talk to me, despite the fact that he was really talkative when we had chatted online. Meanwhile, I had pretty much given up on getting him to talk about the whole sex rumor incident so I had no reason to talk to him at all. Eventually, he did open up first and started talking to me.

"Want a rematch?" Was the first thing that came out of his mouth.

I was a little peeved since my character had just died but agreed anyway.

Ji Woo reached out and took out a controller from behind his desktop, ready to pair it to his smartphone.

I stared at him incredulously. The whole time, he had a controller and he didn't once offer it to me? His reason was that he thought I was more comfortable with the keyboard and mouse. I mean sure, I was fine with keyboard and mouse. But I was way more comfortable with the controller.

I snatched the controller from his hand and accepted the challenge. He logged onto his phone and played there instead, without the controller. Three rounds later and I lost. It was frustrating but I couldn't let Ji Woo notice that it was getting to me. It could defnitely affect me in the next round.

Instead of another rematch, Ji Woo offered we played as a team instead. Normally, my pride would've rejected him. But you see, the prize for the top team that week was really good. And I didn't have enough friends to team up with. Okay, fine, I didn't have friends at all. So yeah, which is why I agreed to it as well.

Surprisingly, we worked really well as a team. I thought there would be a lot of cussing on my end, since I was used to playing alone and playing with random players often resulted in cussing wars. But Ji Woo was such a skillful and cooperative player that I barely cussed.

Since then, we kind of got close. Keywords being "kind of". I could talk to Ji Woo about almost everything game related and assignments, which was great because I finally had someone I could fangirl with over Call 2 War. But talking about the bullying incident was still a no-go, which defeated the whole reason I was there in the first place.

I mean, I didn't think I would successfully get into his room, much less get him to open up. But I still hated the fact that me getting punished and having to pick up trash was going on my permanent school record. Hell, nah. If I had successfully made my way into his room, I could definitely convince him to return to school.
