The wedding march played as Yasmina watched Sammy walk down the aisle a smile never left her face as the woman before strode with the grace of a swan gliding on water and she was honored to have her as a wife. Then, as if her mind hit the fast-forward button on a remote, they were saying their vows, and as Yasmina put the ring on Sammy's finger, she felt like her hand was moving through honey slow and sticky.

As she finally got the ring on Sammy's finger she looked up with a soft smile only to see Sammy's face now a sickly green "Sammy are you okay?" Yasmina asked the Texan nodded weakly but as they kissed everything faded to black.

Yasmina woke up with a jolt, breathing heavily her eyes darting across the room, she was in bed alone, and the snoring of her Doberman, Desil was the only other noise in the silent room. "At least you can sleep soundly, boy. Why do I keep dreaming of her when she is already gone?" Tears prick her eyes as old wounds open. Flashes of sweeter memories hurt Yasmina's heart, she got Desil to try and ease that pain it seemed to dull it slightly but it still was there.

She knew Desil would only dull the loss but the light he brought into her now-dark world seemed worth it.
